I've been looking for this thread forever and I just couldn't find it....and here it is so I am happy...
First of all props to DM, Writer, and Mistress Siana for some awesome lyrics...I really liked all of them...
I usually write in response to depressing periods of time, and here is an awfully scary set of lyrics I wrote last year...and then I tweaked them a bit when some particularly sad things happened last month. Don't be too scared (because this one scares me) but I wrote in in the confessional style of poetry which uses dark imagery...well here it goes...
"Waiting"
Here I rot, my insides bleeding for all to see. I cry, I weep, watching you as you stare right through me. Entanglement of salt and blood stains the pavement, burning stares, sweet words, no pain no gain, could this be love?
The sun falsely shines from behind the storm, Gaze upon the rays ignore the rain. Pelts upon the face, Mother Nature’s camouflage to hide the anger, the sadness, the pure frustration, the deep depression upon my skin.
Running to catch you, the pain in my side, I gasp for air. Rob me of my oxygen, tease me with a single breath then suffocate me with your poison CO2…
Carbon sits upon the page, a hundred thoughts, a thousand words. The tear, the tear (tare), never wanting to forfeit all. The words still in the mind never meet the clueless eye.
Wasting away, no pain no gain? Could this be love?
The tears fell hard, the ink ran fast. A smear, and blotch, that’s all remains. Entanglement of salt and ink stains the paper, burning desire, sweet words; no pain no gain…could this be love?
The night is here, and I’m alone. I guess, the wait is over, you’re gone. I stretch, you move, I fall. Blood pours from the wound, stains the pavement, the platform… all is lost. Full of pain, and still no gain.
Cut me up from the inside my heart still pounds; rip it from my bleeding chest. Crack smile as the blood runs down from my dying heart cruel laughter as
Here I rot, my insides bleeding for all to see. I cry, I weep, watching you as you stare right through me. Entanglement of salt and blood stains the pavement, burning stares, sweet words, no pain no gain, could this be love?
Hit and run, left dying on the pavement, the screams of pain bounce off your mind, forgotten for another life to kill. Reeking of denial, you pass me the bloody knife, another suicide note to the world. Blame the victim, another sign of love, I’m sure.
An inch from death, the reaper stops, and the one we once jeered sees your bloody hands, saves me from your cruel intentions, and saves my dying heart. It was never love with you my “darling”.
Or Was It?
The tears are gone, the scars have set, I stand up tall, yet wince with pain. Cross my Fingers Hope to die… The sun will come up tomorrow Bet your bottom dollar that I’ll never…
…rot, my insides bleeding for all to see. I stand, I walk, finding more inside of you, right by my side. Entanglement of laughs and tears smoothes the pavement, gentle smiles, sweet words, no pain no gain, could this be love? |

Well, maybe the reason that they are spending that much is that they know that we are going to want to see it because in the 2nd movie, it made more money than they first one and if they think that the money they are going to make is going to increase then they might as well spend some more money to make the movies more better so they can "rake in the money"
And another is because of the props and graphics and coustumes and yadda yadda...
i think.... |

First of all, the Pats will win. Thats already been decided, now, the question is: By how much? First of all, it is a physical impossibility for anyone(that includes stephen davis & Deshawn Foster) to run over or through Ted Washington. Then we've got Bruschi, who, believe me, will be back for the Superbowl, so if the running game gets fed up with negative yardage and tries going the other way, bang- Bruschi forces the fumble! Now, steve smith and mushin muhammad can be as clutch as they want---they could be randy moss and terrell owens for all it matters, there is no way past Ty Law, Rodney Harrison or Eugene Wilson. A combined 5 interceptions in the last two games, OH WAIT !!!!! those games were against the two AFC MVPs !!! jake del-WHO? He doesn't have a chance, there's no hope. Props to the Carolina D for their run stopping, but anyone can stop our running game, so big deal. We have Tom Brady, there you go, game over-- we win. He'll make the plays when we need them... AND when we don't. He will pound it down Carolina's throat, they won't know what hit them. He'll hit David Givens, Bethel Johnson, Troy Brown, Deion Branch or Christian Fauria, whenever he wants, wherever he wants. Who knows? We may choke and only win by 14, and that's only if our defense doesn't score a few. I do see a very good Panthers team a little further down the road, but right now, the Pats have it sealed. Sorry, I get worked up over the Pats, Sox and C's. I don't think I can control myself. |

uhhhh, i live in charlotte (home of the panthers) and uh, yeah, they are going to win, they are in no way bad Hermione Weasly, stephen davis (running back) can run over and through anybody, and the we got an awsome backup in Deshawn foster (running back), did u see his touchdown against the eagles, he started at the one, got dropped all the way to the 5, broke 6 count them SIX tackles, and STILL got the touchdown. Then there is steve smith (wide reciever) who is crazy fast and just a straight up playmaker, mushin muhammed (wide reciever) who is incredibly clutch, and jake delhomme (quarterback) who just kills with his recievers when he needs to and is also so clutch it is unbelieveable, then there is the defense, who kicks butt by the way, ricky manning junior (corner back) - 3 interceptions sunday (yeah Ty Law did it to, so i gotta give him his props) but still that is sick, dan morgan (middle line backer) is huge, 12 tackles and an inteception on sunday, that is beast. mike minter (saftey) is also huge. AND THEN THERE IS THE D-LINE, HOW FREAKIN NASTY ARE THEY, OH MY GOD, THEY STRAIGHT KILL QB'S AND RUNNING BACKS and yeah, i know everyone is going to pick the patriots, but uh, didn't everyone pick the rams over us and they lost, didn't they also pick the eagles over us, who, if you didn't know also lost. and those two games were both on the road, the superbowl is at neutral ground, no home field advantage, sorry snowlovers, it's in houghston, which actually favors the panthers, so, yeah, the game is over, panthers win |

So are any of you guys thespians???? Meaning...are any of you guys in to theater, and acting and set building, tech crew etc???? If so what kind of shows have you been in and or helped with, and what kind of theater programs have you been with? What is your favorite kind of role to play or favorite play to be in??? Favorite playwrights...see this thread is really open to all things theater related!!!!!
So anyway...
I have been wanting to act for years, ever since I was a little kid. But when we did class plays in primary school, the teacher would pick parts and since I was a painfully shy girl I never got a part...but what they didn't know was my passion for all things theater and my new persona that comes to life when ever i'm under the barn lights...
I've been in a few little plays for classes, and a few high school plays and musicals...and i want to do more, but since I live in a small farm community, theater is in short supply...lol...
So pretty much this is my resume in order of recentness...so the first one is from when I was 10 and the last one when i was 17...
Once Upon A Starry Night...Little Glow Pecos Bill...Ma The Wizard of Oz...City Founder of Munchkin Land West Side Story...Pit Orchestra The USO Show...Patty Andrews of the Andrews Sisters and Pit Orchestra Fools...Slovitch the Butcher Godspell...Props Manager/Tech Crew Peter Pan...The Crocodile and Tech Crew Happily Never After...The Marriage Counselor The Lost Elevator...The Old Woman Cinderella...The Evil Step-Mother French Toast...Designated Driver Damn Yankees...Meg Boyd
My favorite role probably was Slovitch the Butcher because I was a fool, and boy is it fun to be a fool! My favorite play I was Fools and it was written by Neil Simon, who is also my favorite playwright...lol...
Probably my toughest role was the role of The Old Woman in The Lost Elevator...which was the dumbest play ever...I mean it was a whole play about people stuck in an elevator and a romance that spawned from within...and since the scene never changed and the whole cast was on stage the whole time, it was really hard to stay in character for such a long period of time...plus the timing had to be just right since the script had hardly any blocking because 15 people in an elevator doesn't leave a lot of room...lol
One musical I really wish I had been in was Godspell...that is such a beautiful show...but since I was a lowly freshman in HS, the upperclassmen got the roles...*tear*
So what are your thoughts on theater???? Do tell, please! |

I believe Gryffindor has a second page of members, too, but I don't know that for sure...if you (Gryffindor) do, you have more than 50 members, too! I hope even more people get active in Ravenclaw...at the moment, only half our membership is moving around in there, but I can't really complain...and I give total props to Holly Golightly and Barry Trotter (our other two prefects! ) for helping to make it such a nice place, and all of our R's for making it thought-provoking, interesting, and fun!

YAY FOR RAVENCLAW!!! And if there's music, there has to be...

I'm sorry Colin for making you feel old....but oh well...as long as you are young at heart I suppose...I mean you must be pretty cool if you are grown up and you like Harry Potter...props to you...
Yeah...I Knew Sirius being the Dog Star...hmmm...and the whole characters after stars is pretty cool...but I do know that the name "Harry" comes from the Indian "Hari" which means "Lion" in Sanskrit...I wonder if this was a motive for the name of a really brave hero...brave like a lion...muhahahaha... |
