Ya did 77 twice, so I'll just skip 72. 71: Wear a t-shirt for the first time in about a month. 70: Write a story over the holidays for homework. Will be making it 5 times as long as everybody elses. 69: Goggle at how quick we're going to finish this 68: Congratulate everyone who did it! 67: Pull up my curtain, it's still down and it's almost 4:00pm! 66: Cross off another day!
Let's see...I own:
~ all five HP books (and soon the 6th! ) ~ all three HP movies ~ a black t-shirt that says "I Solemnly Swear I'm Up to No Good" on the front, and "Mischief Managed" on the back (it hasn't arrived yet, but I can't wait to wear it when it does! )
That's it for me.
Nightcrawler is a purist (I mean that in a good way!! )...I suddenly feel so commercial.
I left out something...I also have those two guides by Galadriel Waters...one that reviews books 1-4 and a hints guide for book 5. So sad. |

Sorry for the double post, a mod can merge the posts if they feel like it's needed.
Okay, has anyone here heard of Brad Vering? Most likely not, but I'll explain. He was a wrestler from a town near me and Tim, so we had heard of him a lot and he was an excellent wrestler. So good, in fact, that Vering is at this moment in Athens, Greece, preparing himself for the Olympics (wrestling hasn't started yet, so he's still preparing). Anyway, Vering heard about what happened to Tim, so he signed up a poster, and sent him a T-shirt with the promise of coming to see him after the Olympics were over. And that, my friends, to a high school wrestler, is a HUGE honor and reward, meeting an Olympic wrestler who has also placed 5th in the world at some meets. So, Tim has that coming for him when the Olympics are over. Anyway, that's my only update as of now, but Tim's got to be happy because he's recovering from his first surgery well, and Brad Vering is coming to see him! |

To Melt a Heart of Ice Part 2: A Rude Awakening (As told from the point of view of James)
RING! RING! RING! "Aaaargh!" I mumbled trying desperately to open my eyes to get out of bed to retrieve the phone but only succeeding in tangling myself further into the covers. Finally, I dragged myself, covers and all, out of my room to pick up the phone. "Hello?" I answered groggily, rubbing sleep from my eyes. "James?" the other voice asked. I became fully awake suddenly as if ice water had just been dumped on my head. "Lindsey!" I exclaimed remembering the kiss from the day before. "Listen James," her voice was shaking as if she were trying desperately not to cry. "I need to talk to you." I sat down on the edge of the couch. Clearly something was wrong. "Yeah," I said frowning. "Yeah sure. What's up?" "No," she stated. "Not on the phone. In person." "Of course," I agreed. I was pretty darn freaked out by then. "Just name a time and place and tomorrow I'll..." "Now," she interrupted. "I have to talk to you now." "Lindsey!" I exclaimed, astonished. "It's not even light outside yet! And I need my beauty sleep!" "James," she sighed, obviously annoyed. "I'm serious. This is important." "OK, OK," I said exasperated. "Just lemme change and I'll be over there in a few minutes." "Thanks," she said. "And don't let my parents see you. I love you." Then I hear the click and the line went dead. I sighed and hung up. I trudged back to my room and hastily threw on jeans and a t-shirt and slipped on my Vans skateboarding shoes. I raced out the door and into the black night. It was warm and a soft breeze blew my brown hair into my eyes. I hastily flicked my hair back and smoothed it out then set down my skateboard and skated the few blocks to Lindsey's house. I stopped right underneath what I knew was her window. I picked up a rock and chunked it as hard as I could at the window. Immediately, the curtains drew back and there was Lindsey looking radiant with the moonlight shining on her like a spotlight giving her an unearthly glow, like an angel. She held up and finger then disappeared into the depths of her house. I blinked and there she was at the door. "Hey," I said softly. Without warning she burst into tears and wrapped her arms around my neck. "What is it?" I asked hugging her tightly to my chest. "What's wrong?" "Oh James!" she murmured her voice muffled from burying her face in my neck. "I'm moving to England in the morning." I blinked. "England?" I answered blankly. "As in the country across the ocean?" "Yes!" she moaned grasping me tighter. I was momentarily stunned. "No," I whispered running my fingers through her long blonde hair. "You can't leave me here alone." "I'm sorry," she whispered back. Then reached up and pulled me toward her and kissed me gently. "I have to go," she said looking into my eyes with that piercing blue gaze. "Goodbye." She gave me one last squeeze and went back inside shutting the door tightly. I sighed and made my way home wiping a tear from my eye. |

Okay, what Alice said...
AND
pray go for a jog get someone to brush your hair, using slow, rhythmic strokes play a cd of a rainstorm listen to soft music turn off the noises (phones, cell phones, tv's, etc.) call a friend
This ones a little weird, but it's one of my favorite. It does require some planning: Make sure no one is at home, so you aren't interrupted. Run a bubble bath with your favorite smelly bubbly stuff. Turn off all the phones (this is important. voice mail's amazing). Fix yourself a drink (I drink coke, but any favorite works fine, doesn't have to be alcoholic). Throw a pair of socks, undies, and a t-shirt in the dryer and turn it on while you're in the bath. Soak for as long as you want, reading if you want. Ice cream is nice, too If you like a little background music, soft piano music is great. Then when you are done with the bath, dry off and put on the clothes in the dryer (they're all nice and toasty), then curl up and take a nap, or just read for a while.
More and more studies are finding that our daily lives are really adding to the feeling of stress we're feeling, so a few lifestyle changes may be in order and may do the trick.
Among the top problems: there's so much noise in our lives. Cell phones can be a great thing, but they can also be a curse. Turn it off for a while and let people leave a voicemail if they must. Watch your diet. While hamburgers and french fries taste good and are a nice splurge, they were never meant to be staples of a diet. A balance of complex carbohydrates, protiens, vegetables, fruits, dairy, and fats can boost your energy and ultimately help you to feel better. Unfortunately, if you're like me, the more stressed out you get, the less you eat and do the things that keep you from being stressed out.
If nothing seems to help, or if you continue losing weight, feel depressed, lose interest in things you once enjoyed, or feel overly anxious despite trying to relax, speak to your healthcare professional or call one of many hotlines available for people struggling with depression and/or anxiety disorders. If you feel like hurting yourself or others at any time, call 911 or your local hospital emergency room immediately. |
