Nathan doesn't know where he is headed but believes that God has a purpose for his life. He wonders whether he is an angel or a Monster - a hero or a villian, and why can't he see the difference. Linderman appears while Nathan is taking a drink of milk. Nathans questions why he has a dead mobster telling him he's the voice of God. Suresh meets a drug dealer in a park but he's not after the drugs - just the dealer himself. At Level 5, Peter breaks Silars neck and asks Angela what other secrets she' keeping apart from Silar being Peter's brother. With the hunger that he took from Future-Silar, Peter starts to rip open Angela's head to try to find out, but Silar's neck has healed, and he throws Peter to the ground. Noah tells Silar they have a lead on a new target. Claire turns up at the place of Mr Canfield, who can create mini black holes . Before he has the chance to do anything she stuns him. Hiro and Ando get the newly dug-up Adam Monroe to agree to behave and help them to find the missing formula. Linderman mets Daphne and asks her to recruit for a new world order, where her gifts can be respected and she can really be somebody. She's happy to do it as long as she can get paid. At Mr Canfield's place, he explains that all he wants to do is see his family. Quickly creating a black hole, he sends Claire's stun gun into it. Mohinder has brought the body of the drug dealer back to his loft, Maya spots a trail of blood on the floor. Mr Canfield explains never meant to hurt anyone - it was an accident of his powers that resulted in someone's death. He realises that Claire is not with the company and shows Caire a card marked Pinehearst asking if she is with them. Claire sees he is being honest and offers to help him see his family. Tracey tells Nathan she killed the reporter and needs to turn herself in. Nathan mentions how he died and believes God gave them these powers. Tracey tells him a doctor in California was the one who did. Noah and Silar burst in to Mr Canfield's place - he's the new target that Noah told Silar about. Confusion reigns - Claire asks what Silar is doing here with her father, and believing Claire set him up, Mr Canfield creates a vortex....just as Claire is about to be sucked in, Silar grabs her hand and saves her life. Adam has brought Hiro and Ando to a bar - the destination for "Specials for Hire" in an attempt to trace who hired Daphne. Unfortunately the bartender is an old adversary of Adam's and goes to hit him, missing Adam but knocking Hiro out cold. Whilst Hiro is unconscious, Adam runs off. At Level 5, Angla has put Peter into a medically induced coma. Nathan and Tracey are there. She recognises Tracey and tells of how Dr Zimmerman worked for the Company many years ago - he helped develop sythetic abilities, of which both Tracey and Nathan were subjects. Maya has found bodies encased a cuccoons at Suresh's loft. Suresh walks in and finds her there... Outside the bar, Knox knocks out Adam and bundles him into a van. Angela explains to Tracey and Nathan that she wants to stop those who want to restart the genetic project which the Company had worked on, as they will destroy everything. Upset at finding out that he and Tracey had been subjects of experiments, Nathan leaves in a flourish, intending to see Suresh about the genetic changes that had been performed. Meawhile Suresh has cuccooned Maya! Claire meets Mr Canfield at Griifith Park Carousel....Noah is there too. Claire has exlained everything to him about Mr Canfield only wanting to see his family but Noah draws a gun on Mr Canfield asking him to kill Silar and Noah will let him go. Mr Canfield is not a killer though - Rather than do what Noah says ad be a monster, he creates a black hole which swallows Mr Canfield himself. Back at the bar, Daphne and her new recruit, Knox approach Hiro and Ando, offering them work. Disheartened that they are the worst heroes ever, Hiro requests that they be signed up to Daphne's group. Hiro and Ando say they're badasses now - Knox takes a sword from the wall and asks Hiro to kill Ando to prove it....................Hiro apologises to Ando and stabs him in the heart........Ando falls to the floor dead! Claire arrives back home. Her mother is glad Meredith (Claire's genetic mother) found her but Meredith is elsewhere - she had started at Eric Doyle's place to look, and now she's sat at his table - he seems to have complete control over her actions. Alone at her desk at the Company, Angela drifts off to sleep - she foresees Tracey, Nathan and Peter dead, and turns to shockedly see a man she recongnises, wearing a silver coloured ring. She tells him she'll stop him but he tells her she won't even be able to move. Waking at he rdesk, Angela seems stuck in position. In the grounds of Pinehearst, Daphne tells Linderman she's not happy about what happened with Ando. She throws a folder at him, which goes straight through, proving her theory that he's not really there. Linderman tels Daphne her next goal is to sign up Matt Parkman but says he'll be difficult. After Daphne has gone, Matt's Dad, Morey appears around a corner - it is he who has been projecting Linderman into her thoughts. He makes his way to a hospital room and tells the man lying there how things are proceeding, and that he has Nathan believing that he is seeing a messenger from God. The man has the same silver ring as in Angela's dream. He doesn't speak but Morey responds as if Morey is hearing the man's thoughts. Morey tells him "Whatever you say goes ,Mr Petrelli". ------------------- Yikes, it's the father!....although that last scene almost felt more like "The Godfather" ! Although there was a clue in the ring in Angela's dream, I never would have guessed that it was her husband she had seen there. Did Angela ever say what he could do? I remember her mentioning his supposed death to Peter at the start of the first series and seem to remember her saying something about him thinking he could do something special, but I can't remember whether anything was specified? Whatever it is, he seems to have affected angela....is she going to be stuck unable to move forever? I think Mr Canfield was a true hero - killing himself rather than be forced to murder someone is a real mark of honour. Speaking of honour though - I thought that was the Japanese way. How on earth could Hiro kill Ando? Yes, I know Hiro had started to have fears after seeing Ando kill Hiro in the future, but that was a possibility to come...Hiro has done this now and he already knows after the death of his waitress girlfriend and his father that you probably can't change a now-past death. It seemed to be straight through the heart too - no chance of just a bad injury, this is death. Hiro, what have you done? He was your loyal friend. And Mohinder too - one of the nicest guys, but you've gone and cuccooned Maya who really seemed to love you. Is she dead yet though? And what will happen when Nathan and Tracey visit Mohinder? It was very interesting to see Silar save Claire's life, especially having seen Claire be in the anti-good-Silar group in the last Chapter. Her path will be very interesting to watch.

A strange feeling clutched at his chest. Was that, worry? "Neko..." he hissed into the darkness. Deafening silence. Inu felt impatience now. What was she playing at? Then he noticed the other end of the alley where a streetlight iluminated a single figure crouched against the wall. He felt his lips spread into a hungry smile. He sucked in the air through his nose as the wind blew the scent of the human his way. "Female." he breathed, and licked his top teeth and lips. He boldly approached her at speed. The girl had her face in her hands, the attack was a perfect surprise. At the last moment, she looked up and with even greater speed managed to throw herself onto her back pushed Inu off of her with all her strength through her legs. Inu tumbled into the opposite wall, and just as he was about to attack again, down on all fours, he stopped. He stood up abruptly. "Yuta!" he panted, wiping at his mouth and checking for blood. There was some, and he licked it off. Yuta had stood up and was facing Inu defensively. He charged up to her, stopping at the tips of her toes. He reached down and grabbed her delicate chin, forcing her to tilt her head uncomfortably back to look up at him. She instinctively grabbed his wrist, and he lifted her up a bit so her toes now dragged on the ground. He looked into her face hungrily. "You..." he looked over her features, and brought his head down to smell her again, "For someone who can kill like you do.... you reak like prey....." he looked into her eyes again. She said nothing, her eyes were blank and defiant. He smiled. "I've never had the pleasure of tossing you around, as tiny as you are." And he dropped her. She collapsed to the floor of the alley, gasping for breath.

His rash is getting worse. Mohinder hears screaming from a neighborng apartment and goes to investigate. A guy there tells Mohinder to back off in an abusive way, at which Mohinder hits him with his newly aquired strength. Tracey is told that she was one of 3 identical triplets, herself, Nikki and Baba. When their birth parents died the 3 triplets were separated and DNA manipulation was performed on them. Tracey asks the doctor to take her ability away but he can't. In Africa, Matt has a vision of the future... The two Peters have arrived in New York 4 years in the future - it looks like today with one big difference - people are zooming and flying around. Abilities are available to everyone by injection. Future Peter tells his younger self that so many people with abilities can't be trusted with abilities - they can be the weapon of choice. Someone from younger-Peter's time is putting togetrher a formula that gives people abilities - he has to stop them. Future Peter tells his younger self that he needs to find Silar - with his ability he won't make the same mistakes as Future-Peter has done. He explains that In the past some were born like this, some were made - lines were drawn and sides were chosen. As he is speaking, Claire shoots him, accompanied by the Haitian. Younger Peter runs. Ando and Hiro are incarcerated on Level 2 of Primatech. Hiro spots a vent as a possible escape but Ando thinks Hiro is still upset that future-Ando murders Future-Hiro. Hiro says he is. Nathan is trying to work out how he is seeing Linderman and what Linderman wants. Maya wants to take Mohinder out in the fresh air outside but Mohinder snaps at her saying he is working for her - trying to take away her ability. Mohinder fears his aggression and what he is becoming. We fast forward 4 years to the future, Younger Peter has arrived at Mohinder's loft. Mohinder is covered in a hood and explains he got the formula wrong. Peter looks into Mohonder's thoughts to find where Silar is - he's at the Bennett hous in Costa Verde. Peter teleports there to find....a pleasant Gabriel (not calling himself Silar any more) cooking waffles for Gabriel's son. Gabriel tells Peter they are brothers, and that his ability isn't just knowing how things work, it comes with a terrble hunger. Gabriel doesn't want to condemn Peter to this but Peter asks Silar to see for himself what is to come by painting the future. Still in the future, Daphne is at home with Matt, Mollie and Matt & Daphne's young baby. Daphne wants Matt to let Mollie find where Peter is. Later, oustide the aparment, Daphne tells Claire and the black guy who escaped from Level 5 (sorry, I don't know his name yet) that Peter is in Costa Verde. Back at the Bennett House, Gabriel's has painted the world being split in two! He gives Peter his watch and explains if Peter wants to know how to access his ability he should fix the watch. Peter does, and acquires Gabriel's ability . Claire, Daphne and Level 5 guy arrive. In the middle of a scuffle, Gabriel's son is accidentally killed. Gabriel is so distraught that he is unable to control himself, and goes nuclear, destroying all of Costa Verde in an atomic explosion. Ando succeeds in opening the vent but tells Hiro to escape on his own. As Hiro is trying to make it into the vent, the Haitian appears. Tracey tries to turn herself in for killing the reporter, but her phone freezes before she can tell the police. Mohinder realises he can't reverse the process which is changing him, or remove Maya's ability just as a there's a knock on the door. It's the abusive guy that Mohinder hit earlier. He hits Mohinder but Mohinder pulls him inside... Tracey hands in her resignation to Nathan. She knows what she has to do now. Linderman tells Nathan he must help her. Tracey throws herself off a bridge but Nathan flies in and catches her. Later, Tracey shows Nathan her freezing ability. They kiss..... Fast forwarding to the future, President Nathan Petrelli and First Lady, Tracey are talking to the press conference about Costa Verde's destruction. In some kind of medical laboratory, future-Claire starts to torture younger Peter with a knife she wants him to feel the pain of every death of the 200,000 people who died in Costa Verde. Nathan enters and asks for a moment alone with Peter. Nathan has seen the paintings of the world spliting and heard the dreams - he knows what's going on but doesn't think that one man can save the world.It's everyone's responsibilty. Nathan mentions an army of abilities and that congress has agreed to full proliferation. Nathan asks Peter to read his mind. Peter undrestands nathan's intentions and that he blieves he is doing the right thing but says that Nathan is wrong - Silar's abilities are at work in Peter now and he throws Nathan against a wall...Peter needs to understand....he cuts Nathan's head open in the way Silar used to. Shocked at what he has done and hearing knocking on the door from outside, Peter teleports back to the present day and Sylar's cell in Level 5. Peter tells Sylar he has been to the future and has taken Silar's abilities but would never let himself become Silar. Silar says he already is. Matt and Molly are watching a news report in the futire about Costa Verde when ther's a knock on the door. Daphne has arrived back home alive but she was too slow. With radiation burns on her back, she collapses into Matts arms, just like in the picture that Matts African frond had drawn. Matt wakes up in the present. He wants to find Daphne. His African friend tells him he must find his Totem - a spirit guide who will lead him on his journey - it's usually an animal. Matt spots the turtle that he saw when first waking from his collapsed state when his African friend found him. Angela has brought Hiro and Ando to see her. She wants to know where Kyto's part of the formula is...it can turn people like Ando into people like Hiro and Angela. Angela tells Hiro that someone hidden and powerful is manipulating them. Hiro has the key to unlocking the mystery. Later, in a dark cemetary, Hiro and Ando dig up the coffin that Hiro had put Kensei/Adam in. Adam wakes up and grabs Hiro's neck... ----------------------- Woow, a brilliant and packed chapter! I loved the good Gabriel being a responsible waffle-cooking father, and taking care of Mr Muggles. How will Peter control the hunger that his newly acquire Silar-ability though? Future-Claire is scary! How has she become so mean? What she was doing to Peter with that knife before Nathan walked in was just evil...whatevermay have happened to make her that way, Peter didn't deserve that, especially younger-Peter who has always looked out for her since he realised Claire was his neice. Is Future-Nathan dead? He certainly didn' t look very healthy but Peter didn't cut his head entirely off so maybe he's still alive. I quite like Nathan, but what was he talking about "Full Proliferation"? Is he creating some kind of army of people with abilities? Hee hee - Matt may have a long journey with his newly found spirit-guide. Adam he may have had a flawed idea of how to save the world but I think trapping him forever in a coffin was a bit nasty of Hiro. It's nice to see Adam being freed before going totally mad in such a confined and alone place, and good that I don't have to feel Hiro has kept him trapped that way forever.

Chapter 2, [b]The Butterfly Effect[/b] Starts with Claire discussing Silar's break in with her mother. Claire's mum notices that there's a shard of glassin Claire's hand but Claire didn'y realise it was there as she couldn't feel the pain. We see into a dream that Angla is having, in which Hiro is sat dead on the floor, with his Kensei sword stuck in him. Matt's throat is cut, Clare is being attacked, her Dad lying already dead on the floor. The next thing we see is Claire's lifeless and headless body being pulled away from her severed head. Angela rurns to see what appear to be the perpetrators, including Nikki Sanders (or Traky Strauss), Matt's Dad and two others. Behind Angela appears Silar, at which point Angelsa wakes up. Later at Peter's apartment Angela tells Peteerr she had another dream and that he should go back to where he came from. "It's called the Butterfly Effect" she explains. Angela tells him that Claire listened to Peter when he told her not to go to Odessa, and had a pretty bad day because of it. In Manhattan, Maya finds Suresh hanging from the rafters, using his new powers of hightened strength and energy. He crawls up the wall and explains that if he can give powers he can find how to take them away. Mohinder and Maya then get much more close. Matt continues to walk through the desert and collapses exhausted. A video of Silar being shot is being watched by Bob and Elle. Bob tells Elle that Elle is letting him and herself down. At Yamagoto industries, fingerprints have been found of Speedster-girls and her name, Daphne milbrook is identified by detectives Tracy Strauss talks the Geovernor (Bruce Boxleitner) into choosing Nathan for a place on the Senate. Whist leaving, a reporter confronts Tracy about Nikki's past stripping days. Tracy explains that's not her. Claire tries to thro herself in front of a train but issaved by a flying Peter - she explains she just needed to feel somethin and tells Peter about Silar taking her powers. Peter tells Caire it was his fault and it nevershould have happened. Claire asks for Peter's help to teach her about her powers but Peter can't help as something could go wrong. Tracy meets with Nathan and proposes her offer of a place on the Senate. Nathan tells her he knows her but Tracy tells him she's not Nikki. After she leaves, Linderman tells him this is God's plan. Elle enters her father's room but finds that Silar has got to him, his head missing. She frees Mr Bennett who shoots Silar but, with Claire's powers, it has little effect. Silar tries to take Elle's powers but she shorts out, taking the entire electical supply of level 5 out oo, freeing the prisoners kept there. At Daphne's apartment, Hiro tells him that Ando was a villain in the future. In Nathan;s hospital room, Future-Peter explains he is from a future where people with powers have been hunted, slaughtered and used because of what Nathan told the world in the Press conference. He asks Nathan's forgiveness for shooting him. Nathan decides to takeup the offer of junior senator fir New York. After tracy takes his call, the reported shows her a video of herself and Nathan together. Tracy grabs the reporter by the arm and to her own surprise, turns him to ice which crashes to the floor. Angela tells Elle she Angela is now in charge, and that Elle's services are no longer needed. Hiro teases Elle with her medal which he gives to Ando as a trade for the formula Elle takes oth however, and makes a shoallow cut to Ando's throat. Hiro explains that he has a tracking device under the medallion's ribbon. Ando is a bit upset that Hiro didn'ttrust him enough to tell him the whole plan. Meanwhile mohionder is starting to fall apart. Parts of his skin are peeling off. In the desert, Matt wakes to a voice. He is in Africa. Somehow the guy who has found him knows his name and tells him that it's not right that he's there. Noah is back home but Claire realises he is not staying. Noah tells Claire of the prisoners who have escaped Level 5. Claire's ral mother is there to ensure the family stays safe however. Whist playing a game of chess, Nathan realises that only he can see Linderman when a nurse enters the room. At level 5, Future-Peter finds that the prisoners have esaped. He explains to Angela that he put current-day Peter in the Jessie's body to keep him safe. Angela tells him to bring her son back and then go back where he came from. Curent-Peter is relecuantly with the prisoners who are "having fun" terrorising inncont people though. Back at Level 5 Angela tells a captures Silar that she is his mother! ------------------------------------------------- Oh my gosh! No way did I ever guess that about Angela and Silar. Does this mean that Silar is about to come over to the good side? Like I was wondering last week, we've actually found out more about Angela's powers now too, and even seen into one of her dreams. After seeing this chapter twice, carefully looking at the end of her dream, it almost looked like Silar appeared behind her in a protective way, but it was all so quick that it's difficult to know for sure. One thing that really struck me about Angela is that with her powers, she has to, and certainly does exhibit a very machiavellian personality - the ends justify the means. I'm not sure if I quite get Maya - one day she's so mad at Mohinder for using her blood to create something that will actually give powers to others, and the next day she's getting very close indeed to him. What is Mohinder turning into though? Poor old Ando - Hiro needs to trust him until and unless Ando does something untrustworthy, no matter what Hiro saw in the future. I'm sure Ando is the most devoted of companions and wouldn't go to the dark side, but Hiro is risking pushing him away and alienating hime, which could create exactly the scenario that Hiro fears.

He waited, patiently, crouching silently with Neko by his side. She was nearly invisible, both by sound and sight, and the only way he knew she was there was the heat of her body leaning against his. His eyes rolled back, he was aching for a kill. And not just any kill; a proper kill that first was hunted, terrified, and then begged for it's life. Two muggles, a girl with long blonde hair pressed straight around her face and down her back, and a boy with black hair with red spiked tips, parted from the group, stumbling toward Inu and Neko. Inu crouched lower, and the two muggles passed them, grabbing at each other as they disappeared, away from safety, into the darkness. Inu eyed the girl, who was wearing a very short skirt and long boots. The flesh on her thighs was not covered with clothing, and he licked his lips, tasting the blood already. Neko seemed to sense his anticipation to begin and so they moved forward. The boy pushed the girl against the wall and started to kiss her. She pulled away, giggling. "Stop it! Are you sure no one is here?" She looked up into the empty windows of the buildings that created the alley. "Let em watch..." the boy growled and burried his face into her neck. She shrieked and leaned into the kiss. Then she gasped and pushed him off. "What?" he asked, and turned to look where she was staring, covering her mouth in horror. Behind a large rubbish bin, Two eyes flashed. What light caught them was impossible to tell; perhaps the moon? Because there was no other light in the alley. "Who's there?" the boy called bravely. The eyes closed, and the boys heart nearly stopped. "Hey!" he called. "Where did it go?" the girl whispered. And then she screamed when she felt something brush her legs. "What? What is that?!" the boy yelled. "Show yourself!" he yelled, holding the girl. And then the girl was ripped from his hands with such force it knocked him to the concrete. He couldn't tell where she had gone. The sounds in the alley echoed off the walls. He listened for an eternity, and then he heard her again. She was whimpering, crying softly. "Ilinois?" he called out, surprised by the fear in his voice. It was coming from behind the bin where the eyes had been. He stood up slowly, his legs like lead. He approached. "Honey? are you ok?" he stepped one foot in front of the other, closer, closer. The half moon cast light on the area, and there she was lying on the ground, looking at him, her eyes dull and wet. He smiled that he had found her and ran to her. Then her heard her speak, her soft whisper bounced off the dark walls. "No..." she called in vain. Inu showed himself once to the boy, before dragging the girl deeper into the darkness. He could sense Neko was already drinking in the boys fear, stalking him even now as he dragged the girl away into the darkness. He had held her there for only 5 minutes, making the boy wait. He had rattled her tiny body so completely that her back had snapped, but she still lived. He now looked down into her face and he stroked the white blonde hair with his hand, streaking it with dark lines of blood. He relished in her suffering and her fear. "Are you afraid?" he growled. Her eyes went round. How could a beast speak? He smiled. "You should be."

But after that moment, the creature within her took hold. A slight hiss escaped her as she strode after Inu, her eyes narrowed dangerously. She followed him into the alley and, seeing him turning to head for bus, called out to him distinctly: "How dare you." Inu abrubtly turned, and she approached him boldly. As she walked in the shadowy alley, Neko slowly shifted from human to something quite different. Eyes sharpened in the gloom while teeth now came to wicked points, muscles rippled with deceptive strength and the nails hardened to become vicious claws- this stage was reached just as she reached Inu. She spoke again, her voice quiet yet resoundingly clear- more of a growl in the back of her throat than a human voice. "How dare you say I am not ready, Chi Inu. Who or what gives you that right? I have lived like this since I was born, not human enough for the others, the needs and desires of this animal a constant presence within me- I am both, yet neither. Sometimes I need to be human, but other times I need to be the creature. All this you know already, you made me tell you that cold winter night long ago. You offer me the chance to truly embrace this self with you, then take it away before I can think! It is a cruel and twisted game you play." Neko paused, then without warning slammed Inu into the wall and dug her claws into his arms- the element of surprise helping her to do so. "But I know the rules. We two, we shall "kill time" as you put it. Just us, yes?"
