What books are everyone reading right now? (That sounds weird . . .)

I need some nice long ones to read. Actually,

Strangers in a Strange Land is sitting on my piano bench clamoring to be read at the moment. I forget who the author is, though.

And I recently finished Dream of the Red Chamber, a Chinese classic. And I was horribly confused because all the names are impossible to remember, and all the characters start sounding the same after a while.

I think I reread Lord of the Rings a while ago, too.

I thought it was a very good book... I really liked it. The ending was surprising to me, never would've guessed it. :-) They should do it into a movie! lol

I read Raymond E Feists Talon of the Silverhawk Which was quite impressive. The Rfitwar saga was much better, though.

Shadow of the Hegeman by Orson Scott Card

This is the second book of the Shadow Trilogy

This trilogy is a sequel trilogy to The Ender Saga (4 books).

I actually like these better than Harry Potter.

Anyone else read these?

Azn, you should really read the other books, too. They're radically different from Ender's Game. Both Card (the author) and Ender (the character) have had worlds of experience since Ender's Game, and the next three books really reflect that.

Yesterday I finished a memoir-ish sort of book by an Indian author. I forget her name though- I do remember her initials are B and L. The book was called Jasmine. I still can't decide whether it's good or not.

Books

Postby Broken Machine » Sunday 30 March 2003 6:59:36am

You can usually catch me reading either Machiavelli's The Prince, a real good power play book, or Sun Tzu's Art of War. I can't recall how many times I've read them but once you can relate life of today to the lessons in each of the books you can really have an advantage over people that say just live life day by day. One of the other books that I have been seriously reading, and not browsing through, is Sacred Heart by Marcello Montecino. It's a good book that I already read once but it's still such a great story that I had to read it again. Reminded me of Puzo's The Sicilian.
