It looked nice, and you're right adaptation is nice. But at least add things that fit with the world they live in. If adding something, why are you going to add something that doesn't belong just for your artistic feeling.

Christopher Columbus (not the 1492 one) who directed the first two films, was ready to go back home and have dinner with his family. He became a producer on the 3rd film instead of director and I believe, is helping produce GoF which is being directed by (I believe) Mike Newell.

PoA the movie, has grown on me although I was very disappointed at first. As one reviewer put it, "seeing the choices the director had to make to keep the film under a certain time length, was painful...." Peter Jackson who directed the Lord of the Rings, faced the same criticism from resolute Tolkien folks because he had to eliminate the whole Tom Bombadil bit from the first movie and focus solely on the journey of Frodo to destroy the ring.

PoA was such a good book, it remains my favorite, I'm not sure ANY director could have gotten it exactly right to please the book lovers. I'm not sure any movie made could have matched the quality of the book, even in an adaptation, but overall, it's still a decent film, even with all the details cut. The 3rd director did, with JKR's permission and blessing, want to give the kids a little more "normal" look about them during their down time. And it was one of the screenplay folks who added the shrunken head on the Knight Bus to which JKR says-in the interview footage-"I only wish I'd thought of that first."

I'm fond of the shrunken head too; but damnit why did they throw out the plot and subplot? WHY!?! Even if it were during that scene where he was talking to Lupin; that would have been more important information than a ficticious crush on Lilly

Lupin going on about Lily like that... I dunno, it just seemed to irritate me. It almost seemed pointless. You're right, they could have included something more important there.

The thing I hate most is the extremely long bus ride with the shrunken head talking the whole way. Did y'all notice in the new movie GoF that in the teaser when Harry is fighting the dragon that he's not on his broom? I wonder if they'll have him fighting on his feet. (At least I didn't see him on his broom.)

I don't think that Harry summons his broomstick until later on in the fight. I'm sure it will be in there. I doubt that the filmakers would turn down the opportunity to have more showy special effects.

Actually, it's the very first thing he does... He engages the dragon only on his broom. That's what makes that fight so special

i think its dumb how they weren't wearing their robes at all in the thrid movie and how harry's muggle clothes fit him perfect- he's suppose to have all dudley's clothes and their supose to big on him but the clothes he wore during the movie fit him perfectly.

That annoys me too, it's too long. Instead of those wasted minutes, they could have made the scene in the Shack longer and better explained. Or they could have added something else instead of that...

There was so many things they cut, and so many things they added. You would've thought they would have tried to add as much of the plots as they could have.

Yeah I agree, the shrunken head is realy annoying, they missed out the whole MMPP explaination and I got really confused...

The GoF trailer Is'nt too great they flashback to what the trio used to look like then show about 30 secs of what GoF like, not the good teaser trailer I would like to watch...

I havn't seen the teaser trailer yet, but by the sounds of it; they made it succesfully. They show you just the tinyest bit of new footage, and leave you wanting more.

yeah, it did exactly what it was designed to do, the shrunken head p***d me off. I didn't mind the muggle clothes, they would be more comfortable than robes when they weren't in classes, it didn't take away from the film, but they did take out too much stuff
