Strangely, or otherwise I suppose, I remember someone saying that Hogsmead was the only all wizard village in England. Wonder how that would affect Godrics Hollow.

oooh... wow. i hadn't thought of that. but you're right. hogsmeade is supposed to be the only all wizarding village. hmmm. but with a name like godric's hollow, it's really weird that muggles would live there in large numbers. maybe lily and james didn't always live in godric's hollow? maybe they were just hiding there, trying to blend in with muggles??

Is there any indication where Godric's Hollow actually is?
Could it really be a reference to St. Godric?

Rowling would not comment on whether there was anyone else at Godric's Hollow the day James and Lily were killed.

Considering what DD said under the influence of the drink in the cave maybe it was he who was there as well.

I really think it would have been either DD or Snape.

Gee.

*Dutchess takes a bow*

But we must not get too married to a theory yet. I'm gonna re-read HBP and see what I can find. (Always seem to read too fast the first time through)

Suppose it was Regulus Black who took the locket horcrux.

Clues to its whereabouts might be found in the hollow.

interesting about dd and snape. it made me think...
we now know that snape lives somewhere other than hogwarts during the summer (and i'm assuming occasional holidays?) this suggests that other professors have homes outside of hogwarts as well. (and some, such as trelawney, clearly live there year round.) is it possible that dd himself lived in godric's hollow during that time? could lily and james have been hiding in dd's home? or is that too "easy?"

i am liking this theory, but your right it would be easy to guess but then again how would LV know where Dumbledore lives anyway?

I reckon it was Snape who was at Godric's Hollow. Something about the death of James helped Snape convince DD that he had turned for the good. i can't remember where it said that now

I reckon he must have been there. I can't believe it would have been DD as he surely would have been able to prevent a direct attack?

Could it be that James's death may have been the first death that Snape witnessed at the hands of LV after he became a DE? Don't know about that but I reckon whatever happened that night Snape went along for the ride. Thinking about it, Wormtail would have been too cowardly to face his friends directly before they died but somehow I still think Wormtail went there to get LV's wand - oh I'm just confused!!!

I think that it is possible that Gryffindor had set up some sort of strong hold in Godric's Hollow. Slytherin, suspicious and hateful, designed the Chamber of Secrets to aide his heir, it is possible that Gryffindor saw the need for a "secret" place in case of something like LV happened along...ya know, designed to aide the one who fights him (LV). I think anyone who has read the books has considered the possibility that HP is somehow related to GG, but even if he's not, it would be nice to know that he has a resource like a magical GG room, hidden with ancient love spells...

Maybe there are really powerful spells powered by the emotions that harry has regarding his friends. They don't necessarily have to be love spells, but they have a benign source, unlike the unforgivable curses. Think of Expacto Patronum.

Well, not all spells have to be said, keep that in mind, sometimes things are best left unsaid, but felt. In OotP when Harry tried to cast an unforgivable curse at Bellatrix, she said you had to mean it when you say it, and since some speels dont have to be said, perhaps they just have to be felt. (wow how sappy waz that!)
