that is a good point tanuki. often spells need emotion behind them to work. maybe it is to harry's benefit that he can't block out his emotion. snape obviosuly seems to think that his inability to practice occlumency will be his downfall, but maybe he needs to be able to freely feel in order to finally do in lv. perhaps going to godric's hollow and seeing his parents' graves will have the effect he needs to find the rage to kill him.

I'm sorry Salazar but do you honestly believe you could make a horcrux out of a wand?

Just checking!!

you know what i really dont know why dont you inform me one of supereme knowledge. And who says you cant make a wand a horcrux?
You store your soul in an object dd never said it had to be a certain type of object, until you can comeback with sufficent evidence as to why it cannot be a wand i still beleive it would be very cool for him to find something like that, that represents his heritage.

Really Salazar, chill... and the BaO website crashed at that point due to daily maintenance I think. Just to make you happy I tried to delete the second post but it wouldn't let me...

After all the insight that DD gave us on the types of items LV would possibly choose for horcruxes, I think we have a pretty good idea of what the horcruxes could be if he managed to create them all...calm down...

*ignores the arguement and continues on in a civil fashion*

I think it'd be really cute if he found his Mommy or Daddy's wand. 16 years might have taken it's toll on wands if they were left in a pile rubble though.

I hope he finds lots of his parents things including their wands and portraits so he can talk to them. Normally when wizards die though, they're wands are snapped in two but we haven't heard whether that has actually happened for Lily and James's. I wonder (if they haven't been snapped) if Harry will pocket them for use during the final duel. Apparently it was important that Lily's wand was good for charms...

I think if Harry found his parents portraits, I'd cry harder than I did when Sirius and Dumbledore died combine.

I've grown really attached to Lily and James even though they've been dead since the very beginning. It's one of the reasons I love Harry/Ginny so much, little James and little Lily.

What will he find? Prhaps its not an object he will find, but rather, his family's past, what happened on that fateful night in Godrics Hollow, the whole story may be revealed about what happened that night.

Having reread the part with the song, I'mm beginning to doubt that they actually snap the wand in half. In the song it said his hat was inside out and wand snapped in hal I think he died like tht

Yeah it's odd isn't it. I could kind of understand Neville having one of his parents' wands because they're not dead but we haven't heard about Lily and James's.

Incidentally if you feel like watching new footage from the Gof Trailer http://www.hpana.com/news.18743.html There is a thread on the Movies section though for comments etc.

Just edited this post because found something interesting on http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/charms.html

"Charm spells are in some ways the opposite of Curses: many Charms seem to have in inherent positive tone (e.g. Tickling Charm) while Curses have an inherent negative one. This is not to say that Charms are weaker magic; a well-chosen Charm is a powerful magical tool against Curses, Jinxes, and Hexes. Professor Flitwick, the Hogwarts Charms teacher, was rumored to have once been a Duelling Champion, after all (CS11). "

Do you think Harry will have to either become good at charms or will use his mother's wand (if he finds it) when he faces LV?
