i can get past the fact that:

The Patil twins were in the same house

Wormtail cut off the wrong hand

Flitwick looked like Hitler's Mini-Me

because theses are just things which would offend an obsessed fan but why did crouch jr have to be in the house at the beginning? there was no need for it

and also they seem to have completely dropped house elves and Rita Skeeter has changed from a main character to a throw-away

then theres the fact that Voldemort was almost insane, instead of his usual calm self

I did like it
BUT
There were some things I wasn't happy with, the first 20 minutes of the film was a complete shambles obviously due to the length of the film and the size of the book- the editing and the jumping about from one scene to the next left me thinking I was glad I'd read the book cos at least I knew what was going on

Neville becoming distressed with the unforgiveable curses should have been explained better, that was a really dramatic scene and was pointless in the end because there was only a very very very very brief mention at the ministry hearing about Mr and Mrs Longbottom- again it left me glad I'd read the book or I wouldn't have noticed that being mentioned and would have left the cinema wandering what Neville was so upset about

Why did the 2 other schools arrive BEFORE the triwizard tournament was mentioned. All the pupils were excited to see them arrive but no one looked like they wondered why they were at Hogwarts?????

No explanation of veela's

No one actually stated anywhere that Krum was the same Krum from the Bulgarian quidditch team

I know this all sounds petty but I watched it last night from the perspective of someone who hadn't read the books- and it was a complete mess

BUT because I had read GOF I really really really enjoyed it and filled the gaps in myself

However The idea of having Neville helping Harry in the 2nd task instead of Dobby was actually a really clever idea, I actually prefferred that idea

and the weasley twins and ron were so so funny

the climax at the end was even more dramatic than I could ever have imagined

I just wish they HAD split this into 2 films

hahaha!!!!! I didn't think of that at the time but its somewhat true XD

I LOVED the movie. It was sooo nicely done. When I started watching it I decided to try not to see it as a book-on-screen, but as a stand-alone movie and it was just great. They really made the movie flow. :D

Mike Newell was a first time director. I think he did a good job considering he had no experience.

I liked the movie very much, although there are, of course, things that a fan will find wrong. Apart from the things already mentioned: why is Wormtail calling Voldemort "my Lord Voldemort" (first scene)? Does he dare to speak the name? Or is it just a trick so we know who he is talking to? And I didn't like Fleur. I imagine her much more "veela-ish".

Yeah I think it's so that those people who haven't read the books knew who it was.

I wasn't sure about it the other day but I'm thinking on it a little more kindly now!

The thing that gets me is that I was watching a documentary on the making of it and they were talking about the training of the animals. They were talking specifically of Ron's Pigwidgeon but we never saw him in the film - it makes me think there will be a special edition DVD with extra scenes and stuff. I hope so anyway.

Maybe Pig was that owl that bit Harry.

none of them have been perfect, PoA had many more vital flaws in the plot but GoF was a book that couldve been made in to a brilliant movie (or two, which might have been even better)

I liked the movie a lot, but they didn't even have SPEW in it!! -cries- And they never had Rita Skeeter write any mean articles about Harry or said that Hagrid was a half giant... I think they had the less important things take up more time then the more important... I think you had to read the book to be able to understand everthing, like how they never explained how Barty Crouch Jr. escaped from Azkaban... I liked how the changed it so that Harry told Cedric to go back. But yeah, it was very good overall. =D

I didn't like how they didn't explain Barty Crouch Jr. having the wand in his hand. Audience who have never read the book will assume that Barty had a wand. Then they will be confused because they will wonder why the Azkaban guards didn't take his wand away.

I though it was a little rushed.
They didn't show the Quidditch World Cup match that much.

I know that they can't fit EVERYTHING into a movie. All in all, It was good.
It didn't cut out major scenes like the PoA movie, so I liked it.

Just seen it and thought it was only OK.

I'll deal with all the small changes, ie Dobby and Winky not being in it; Barty Jnr being in the room blah blah blah.

I will NOT forgive Dumbledore being played as a rushing, overexcited bumbling old man. He would never shake a student, especially not Harry, and even when apprehending Barty Jnr, he was the modicum of composure.

Also, why does Hermione's eyebrows move so much, and why was Sirius talking through embers? Surely it would've been easier to have his actual head in the fire?

Do you know what part I hated?
When Mr. Weasley, Mr. Diggory, and Cedric were doing the cheesy walking-in-the-air thing at the portkey scene.
