I remember LV himself was using his Occlumency skills to block out harry from his head and i also remember LV tried to possess harry at the end of OotP but could not because he could not bear the one power he did not have.
So i think that harry doesn't need the unforgivable curses .
But could Harry himself be GG's heir and also LV's horcrux . Because i think
DD says(in CoS) that on the night LV vanished trying to kill harry, he put a "bit" of himself into harry. Now , i wonder which bit that might have been?

I could kind of understand Neville having one of his parents' wands because they're not dead

Oh yeah... i always think of them as dead in a way... poor neville...

Lily and James house was destroyed so i can easily see a wand being hidden or buried under the rubbish and overlooked... that would be really good if harry found one.

I really can't see harry using an unforgivable curse either it would be too wrong he's not like LV etc. maybe he will learn to do what DD tried to do in the DoM....

I hope Harry will learn how his parents "thrice defied" Voldemort, as described in the prophecy. I would like to think that this will give him courage and help him to finish the job that they started.

I just finished reading OotP again . Dumbledore ,when telling Harry about the prophecy , mentions about a door in the Department of Mysteries that is locked at all times. Yes, the one that melts away Harry's pen-knife when he tries to open the door.Dumbledore clearly says that behind that door is "the most wonderful and powerful" weapon , that has something to do with the power of Love . I think Harry will learn to use that power to destroy Voldemort.

I hope Harry finds some sort of memory from his parents - some sort of message.

We have videos etc so why can't wizards have something like this. Would be nice if L&J sent him a personal message somehow..

Forgive my ignorance if this has been discussed - i've been away a while.

How will Harry fight LV if their wands do the priori incantatem thing?

I've just been thinking about Godric's Hollow again. We know someone else was there - what if it was an elf? Maybe Harry has inherited an elf he never knew about? :-? :-?

Hmm...interesting thought but don't you think Dumbledore would have told him about the house elf? And even if he would have left to work in the kitchen at Hogwarts, I still think he would have told him something. But then again it could be someone else's elf. (Cause I don't really see Lilly as alowing a slave around her.) Interesting thought though. But what about the elf that was there when LV killed that lady for the cup? I can't really remember what happened to him. Shouldn't the elf here had had a similar fate... God! I feel I make no sense :)

ha ha!! Excellent - I think I make no sense most of the time!

Um yeah, I'm not sure about the elf thing, I'm just secretly hoping that Harry will have another companion - I know I'm probably kidding myself. But also if DD wasn't their secret keeper then he wouldn't have known where they were etc. They could have acquired an elf that DD didn't know about and that elf may have done a runner - it could even be another evil elf!! Oh I'm just clutching at straws and this concept is getting a little too wild!!!!

Could Snape have been the secret-keeper?

No AV, we know from the books that Peter Pettigrew was the secret keeper. In PoA Sirius tells us that he convinced L&J to switch to Peter at the last minute.

Well that, and Snape had been the one who overheard the first part of the great myth that Trawlney told Dumbledore.
