Hey people! I know you are just itching to talk about what makes you so mad that they left out of the movie or added things that aren't in the book. So Rowling doesn't want her Harry to be "butchered"? Well then why in the heck didn't they buy some contacts and hair color for Radcliffe? They could have done a LITTLE better casting. I was really expecting his scar to be a little more exciting.... You could barely see it! They didn't even mention Hedwig's name once, and they skipped a bunch of challenges under the trapdoor. So what do you think? Did they do the book justice or could it have been better? :typing: :cat:

For me his scar was OK, but yes, I agree, there were a lot of details they changed or left out. For example, was it that difficult to make Petunia and Dudley blonde?

Obviously, they couldn't do EVERYTHING in the book... that would be an eight hour long movie, and even I wouldn't want to sit in a theatre that long! Talk about serious Theatre-Butt! *LOL*

But, I must agree. Things like hair and eye colour could have totally been done properly. Just look at Snape's hair! That looked perfect. Harry's eyes definitely need to be green, because wasn't there mention somewhere about his green eyes being very important?
Oh, and then Dumbledore never told Harry that HE had given him the Invisibility Cloak! That was dumb. It would take less than 10 seconds to tell him.
I was most disappointed that they chopped the Potions Class Scene in half. That whole segment kicked butt! And not just because I am a Snape-shipper, but because it was important.
I was also disappointed that they didn't even do the scene where Hermione uses her logic to solve the puzzle and tell Harry which potion to drink. But that is about all.
Other than that, I still think the movie kicks butt and you have to admit that they did well with what they had.

Yes and I also don't like the fact that Ron went in th forest instead of Neville because that messes up a future book. They had the entire Norbert scene wrong. It was dissapointing, but I won't really mind it as much if the third movie is good. It will be the one I want to be most accurate. :cat:

I made a habit of reading them all before i went to see the film, though i didn't read the adventures of Tom Bombadil, or Famer Giles of ham.

I agree with all that LadySnape said but no, I definatly wouldnt have minded setting in a Harry Potter movie for 8 hours! That would be cool! Hard on the actors and everyone though and we wouldnt want any of the actors to get to stressed out now would we?
