Yeah, I write everything directly onto my laptop. I should probably back it up on a USB key, though. Eventually, my fan fic is going to be on 2 or 3 sites. Here, HarryPotterFanFiction.com, and MuggleNet fan fic. I haven't started posting it on MuggleNet, though.

BaO first I hope for the Premieres of the fics :-)

Great news, the move over from the shared server to the new dedicated Hoppy IV has now been done by those lovely people at Westhost. I've just checked the server load on Hoppy IV and it's was 0.00 a few moments ago, increasing to 0.05 a few minutes later, and only 0.15 when I checked her out with a pretty hefty task....wooohoo - she's hardly blinking an eyelid at the moment and things are running lovely and smooth, and impressively quick too :)

Yay!!! :double jump: Actually, the forum is running quite fast for me now. Remember how I mentioned that it was slow for a while? Well, it never stopped being slow, but now it's fast again. :jump:

Yes, BaO is always the first place to see my fics. ;) I normally don't start posting them anywhere else until I've finished them, whereas I start posting here when I'm only a few chapters in. I'm making an exception for my new one, though, since I already know what the ending is and have most of the plot figured out. Heck, anyone who's read my Albus Potter fic knows the ending.

That's oddly odd about those speed problems. I guess it could have been some kind of routing issues - old hoppy was in Denmark so maybe the electrons were doing some strangely long scenic journey before arriving at your computer.

Are things still as fast today? I just finished adding some bad IPs (which I had blocked on old hoppy) to the firewall block thingy yesterday. Those are mainly bad bots and some people that had to be banned, so shouldn't affect the speed of any current active members, but apart from the fact that new hoppy is in the USA, the IP blocks (which are now in place) are the only other thing that I can think of.

Yay about the fanfics! * Pictures lights spelling out "BaO, home of the Duckie Premieres" *. :)

Things are still fast today! Maybe it's because the new Hoppy is in the US. Who knows? I'm just happy it's fast again. :double jump:

I will probably be posting my new fan fic soon, perhaps after I get back from my cousins' graduation this weekend. Although it does not have a name yet. Oh well, my Albus Potter sequel doesn't have a name yet either and I've posted 7 chapters of that.
