Hogwarts was under magical restoration almost immediately. Hogwarts had commissioned a Goblin construction company to do it, as they were more familiar with the work. There was scaffoldling around the tower where the Headmistress office was. Geneve watched as the Goblin construction workers restored the stone around the tower. She was sitting near the forbidden forest, trying to read her Potions book. She laughed. She had attended her first classes today, and only days ago, she had the power to make a potion to control all of Griffindor. She sighed. Maybe Valencia had rendered her powerless in potions, which would serve her right.

Suddenly Geneve noticed something. A flash of blue in the forest. She stood up, searching for it. A trick of the autumn sun? Then, out prowled a siamese cat. It walked right up to Geneve. It rubbed up against her leg and purred loudly. Geneve looked down at the cat, then looked around. She picked it up, and stroked it. It was very skinny, and a bit muddy.

"Who are u, little kitty? Where is your master?" She asked as she scratched the cats ears. The cat snuggled in and purred louder. "Well, I suppose I could take care of u. You need a bath, and some food..."

Meanwhile somewhere near the now still under constructing Headmistress room...

"Come on... Feganor," Nikolaus said in an persuasive tone to the mean-looking goblin who's holding a rather complex equipment supposedly used for calculating purposes. The noise from the construction was blaring behind them despite the placing of several noise reducing charms.

"Herrmann, if you were not the one who blasted the room, I would have already charged much more than this!" Feganor the goblin answered, busy moving the small delicate pieces around his equipment.

"Well, how about giving you this instead?" Nikolaus suggested as he took out an old looking ring encrusted with a dark sapphire gem. Feganor gasped. Seeing the immediate interest and the goblin's reaction to it, Nikolaus continued negotiating.
"It's very simple... you can have this treasure said to be once owned by Urg the Unclean if you would just...", he looked around and whispered quietly into the ears of the eager goblin.

Damien was at his home in Japan, playing chess with Suge. It had taken several weeks of hard work to teach him to play chess, by strenuous amounts of time letting him watch games of chess between him and his father, having to show every single move many times to the monkey. But it had paid off. Now he actually had a challenge. He was planning on entering Suge into the Order chess tournament after a few more months. Until then, he would train Suge.

Funny, it had already been a few days after the fight at Hogwarts, but he had received no word from his superiors in his order about the event. He swore. While thinking about these things, Suge had taken his queen. Little monster. Then he realized that this move had put Suge's own king in checkmate. Normally, Damien would've had to tell his opponent that he can't put himself into checkmate, but there was no way to tell him. So, Damien just took the king and won the match.

Just as Damien did so, Ryu's patronus, a King Cobra, slithered into the room. It spoke in Ryu's voice, Japanese [but I don't know how to say it yet in Japanese], "Order Master Yakyu wishes to see you." Then it dissapeared. Damien sighed as he got to his feet, picked up Suge, and left his house into the surrounding forest. He walked along a path, lit by lamps floating along the path. He went around a bend and found a forest clearing. In the center of the clearing was an ancient Shinto temple. Damien walked to the front steps. Order Master Yakyu was waiting at the base of the steps.

The old man was standing tall and proud, wearing a golden robe embroidered with diamonds. His crown was woven of silk around full deer antlers attached to a helm plated gold. When he spoke, he addressed the monkey. "Suge, you and your master will be stationed at Hogwarts. I was impresssed with your masster's initiative for the problem there. Also, I fear that Hogwarts may need protection, for I do not trust the English ministry to be able to protect their own children. You will speak the headmaster Galena Sprague about this, and tell her that you will not be taking up a post as teacher. Your two's only goal is to protect Hogwarts should an event arise.

Damien, instead of Suge, nodded, and, holding onto Suge's hand, Disapparated to the front gates of Hogwarts.

The pact was made and signed between Nikolaus and Feganor through a goblin magic binded contract. In exchange for the ring, the cost of the construction work will be heavily discounted as Galena has refused Nikolaus's compensation, stating the cost of the repair should come from the Hogwarts school funds.

Nikolaus smirked at the incredible deal he had gotten. The highly treasured goblin legacy had no use for him. He had studied it when he found the ring a few years back and it appeared to be an ornament piece with no apparent magical properties. But he knew, after working with them for several years, that goblins placed utmost importance in retriving all their treasures.

Now, all he had to do, was to keep mum about the secret pact.

Damien entered the grounds. First things first, he needed to speak to Galena Sprague. He began heading up to the castle. Along the way he saw the girl, Geneve. He sat down next to the girl and said, "Hello." He noticed she was holding a cat. "He yours?"

Sat in the stuffy Auror offices, Gwydion was looking at an old map of the Scottish Highlands. He was plotting various points, all focussed around either one of two Castles, and keeping detailed notes. Over the past two days, rumours had been flying around about Grindelwald and Voldemort being reborn, a kerfuffle in Russia and near Hogwarts, the boss being temporarily indisposed etc. etc. Personally, Gwydion couldn't care less about such trivialities. Though the opportunities they brought to light could be interesting.

Finishing, he sat back and, brushing his curly hair back with a hand, sighed heavily. Feuds between the clans were growing more violent by the day. If they weren't more careful there was a risk that Potter would renege their agreement, and then the Department would get involved. The last thing Gwydion needed was his boss sticking his nose into family affairs and homes- his position here could not be jeopardised by a few careless torture sessions!

Suddenly, there were steps coming along the corridor. A quick flick, and all Gwydion's personal notes resembled those of a case he was supposed to be dealing with in the Midlands. The steps got louder, passed him and faded once more. Just as he was about to breathe again, one of those irritating pink memo's zipped into the room and landed on his desk.

"MacCallum, might need you to drop the Midlands case. Not sure if necessary yet, just be ready to leave for Scotland at any time- and not a word. HP."

Gwydion almost swore silently...damn Saint Potter being his boss, and using him as a general dogsbody.

Back at Hogwarts, Geneve was holding a weakened Siamese cat in her arms. She looked over at Damien, and a
pang of guilt surged through her. She unfortunately remembered too many things from when she was possessed.
She had ordered a Death Eater to kill Damien and his friend. She looked at him in the eyes; he was looking at her kindly. As she searched them, it seemed there was no hatred toward her in them at all. She smiled. She needed kindness, she was all alone now. Her mother had gone into hiding, and her father as well. She had only known her father for a short time as he had resurfaced. She had discovered they had both had a plan for her all along; to house the broken spirit of Voldemort so he could come back to full power. And it almost worked. It was Geneve who had blasted the walls and roof out of the Headmistresses tower. It was Geneve who triggered all the mess and death that had occurred only a few short days ago. Her head swam with the weight of it. She was looking away now, deep in thought. Damien brought his hand out and turned her face to his.

"These things are not your fault, Geneve. " he said, as if reading her thoughts. "And it seems you have a need to channel the goodness you believe you have by caring for this poor little creature. Where did you find him?"

Geneve looked behind her. "He came out of there." she said, looking at the Forbidden Forest. Damien looked at the forest too. The wind was catching the leaves of the trees, and several fell and swirled toward them. The wind caught Geneve's hair, and she shivered, holding the cat closer. It purred loudly.

Feganor scurried off to a sceluded corner, with his hand deep in the pocket, clutching the prized ring tightly. He made sure no one was around before he brought it out. The old ring shone with dark brilliance as it laid starkly in contrast on his wrinkled palm. Feganor fiddled the ring with his long bony finger. Despite its old looking appearance, the ring was beautifully crafted. The inscriptions carved on the inner surface were indeed in Gobbledegook - the language of Goblins. The ring was too alluring, the temptation to wear it was overwhelming but Feganor resisted. This legacy left by Urg the Unclean, the rebel leader of the infamous 18th century goblin rebellion, was dubious in nature.

And just like elf magic, wizards were too proud and ignorant to consider the existance of goblin magic, and as such, underestimated the true nature of these magics.

The snake slithered out onto the soft grass in which a tall boy was standing. He scratched the snakes scales with gentleness and allowed the snake to slither up his arm and curl around his neck. The boy walked towards the forest and when he reached the outskirts of it, he saw a girl, a first year to be exact. She seemed to be bored and wanting to be else where.

"Good evening, I believe your the first mature looking first year I have seen around this castle" he said politley while choosing his words carefuly.
"May I escort you elsewhere?" he added while holding out a hand.
He smiled back, she had soft dimples which only made him smile even wider.

Damien saw Geneve shiver. He looked towards the forest with her. "Some of the deadliest, fiercest, and most belligerent creatures live in that forest, as do the wisest, most loyal, and," he motioned towards the cat, "apparently the cutest."

Geneve smiled. She looked down at the cat, and it looked up at her. It was no ordinary cat, she could tell. It's eyes were deep and twinkly. She stood up, cradling the small creature.
"I think I should go back. I would like to give him a bath and some food. Where do I get food from for our pets... hang on, what's that boy doing so close to the forest?" Geneve pointed past Damien to a tall Hogwart's student. When he moved, Geneve noticed he was talking to a young girl, probably a first year. He was offering her his arm, and she was considering it. Geneve squinted. "She looks so familiar..." Geneve felt the gusty wind again and then she noticed something very strange. The girl looked very much like herself! When she touched the boys arm, the girl seemed to go a bit transparent; but she locked arms with the boy none the less. Geneve turned to Damien. "Did you... did you see that?" Was there such a thing as a mirror spell? Geneve could feel something she dreaded ever feeling again; a very, very dark presence.

Nikolaus strode merrily along the corridors. He was liking his new outfit a lot better than the previous set he wore which was heavy and stuffy for this weather and not to mentioned, tattered from the battles. The new outfit was purchased only a day ago through the owl mail order to Madam Malkins Robes For All Occasions which had responded almost immediately as he received his robe within two hours. It was a black robe with silver linings running along the cuffs and the body.

And with that new 'approachable' appearance, (that fur robe probably had made him menacing), Nikolaus found himself surrounded constantly by the older students, which included those giggling girls, who seeked his guidance for their Defence Against the Dark Arts, and these, of course, had induced a tiny bit of jealousy from Valencia who was not only their DADA teacher, but also, his fiancee.

Damien saw the puzzled look on Geneve's face as she asked, "Did you see that?" True, Damien saw that, but he did not pay much heed to it. Then he saw Geneve's troubled eyes. He gave his widest smile possible. "Hey, my monkey needs to go see Mrs. Sprague, do you wish to join him?"

"Yes.. I mean, oh, no that's ok. I'm supposed to be meeting Liam before dinner. I'd better get going." She knodded politely at Damien, then strode off toward the castle.
