Launch of the Other Universes section

Postby Paul » Wednesday 8 October 2008 1:05:13am

I'm happy to announce the launch of BaO's Other Universes section, which begins with a new Heroes forum area for discusion of NBC's exciting TV show. If you've been watching heroes, you can now talk about your thoughts here.

Over time I'm hoping BaO will open more Universes too. If you've got any in mind that you feel we could devote a whole subforum area to like Heroes, please feel free to mention them here.

Cool! :jump: Although I don't watch Heroes, I hope others enjoy the section!

As far as other universes go, I know I can speak for Obladi, Fawkes, perhaps Godric, and I that a Twilight section would be great!

You...cannot...be... SERIOUS!
I love Heroe's, it airs tomorrow night, but I watched the previous season. I will go check it out now, oh-my-god, I'm so excited!

*Boom* Those big-bangs are going off again...tonight two more Universes have come into being here at BaO....the Dragonball Universe now has its very own subforum, and Clarke Kent, Lois and Lex can feel at home in the Superman and Smallville universe subforum too. Both of these have come into being within a newly created "Anime, Manga and Comic Book Inspired Universes" subforum area, which itself can be used to discuss any universes originally created or existing in the form of Manga, Anime and comic books.

All this subforum stuff does sound a bit confusing I know, but think of a subforum as having the ability of being an entire whole forum (like all of BaO) but contained within a folder....you go into the folder and there's the big forum with all of its categories, just like BaO's forum index page.

I've just posted in the Dragonball Z section, trying my best to explain it to anybody who might not know about it without giving away the plot. But, yeah, AWESOME! I LOVE DRAGONBALL Z!!!

I love Dragonball Z as much as I love Harry Potter, possibly more. I've watched the show since I can remember, and I love it.

*Bang*...*Bang*....more universes have arrived at BaO. You can find out who the newly announced Doctor is, and discuss all aspects of the Doctor, his friends, enemies and companions in the Doctor Who, Torchwood and the Sarah Jane Adventures universe.

Ba careful when entering the second universe created today though - you may get bitten and eternally turned into a hungry creature of the shadows in Vampires, Werewolves and Zombies - The Undead and Afflicted . Yikes, I can hear the howling coming from there already!

And vampires, too! Now we finally have a use for all those discussions on the genetics and biology of mythical creatures!

Yes, I find the Werewolf theories amusing. Although, with a Manga section, I don't think it is complete without Gundam. I don't know about other countries, but it's very big in Japan. I'll walk into an electronics store, and it will have all electronics, except for two or three aisles, and I'm talking HUGE aisles, completely dedicated to Gundam Action Figures/Models. And it's the same with all toy stores, they have entire aisles dedicated to Gundam. Personally, my favorite is Gundam Wing.

Under the manga/comic/anime section, are we allowed to post just a single thread on maybe one anime topic instead of a subforum?

Yes, anything that doesn't fit into one of the depeer subforums can be posted in individual threads in the Anime, Manga and Comic Book Inspired Universes area (the same applies to the other universe areas like Heroes, Doctor Who, and the Werewolf, Vampire and Zombie areas). Basically if you can see a "New Topic" button you can create a topic there. :) .

For example, you can create a Gundam thread, Salemboy, in the Anime, Manga and Comic Book Inspired Universes part before branching off to the Dragonball or Superman and Smallville areas. If there's enough interest and possibility for depth of discussions, separate individual subforums can be created in due course for individual universes.

Before I do, though, who actually knowswhat Gundam is? I think it would be a bit pointless to post a subject that nobody at all would reply to.
