Harry Potter vs. Twilght ***SPOILERS***

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

I thought The Host was an auto-biography, or a non-fiction novel.
Also guys, try not to spoil anything; it's getting a bit deep for anyone who would like to read it

Agreed. And when Wanda got a new body...I just thought that was so stupid!

I agree, what and inconclusive ending it had!

You're right, Riley, perhaps we should keep the spoiler-laden conversation to PMs.

I think that Stephenie Meyer should've made Bella more independant. If you think about it, the books don't really set that great of an example. In New Moon, Bella completely lets herself go, contemplating suicide and becoming anti-social. And this is supposed to be romantic. In Breaking Dawn,) Bella gets married and pregnant just out of high school. But there aren't any bad consequences, oh no, everything turns out perfectly, creating a "wonderful love story". Anyone else see what's wrong with this picture. This is essentially why Twilight has steadily lost its appeal to me. It's an okay series, but it in no way approaches the awesomeness of Harry Potter.

Well, she was married when she got pregnant, so I don't really see the whole pregnancy thing as an issue. If she got pregnant in high school before she was married, then I'd see a problem. But she was legally an adult, married, and in love. Yeah, she was kind of young, but plenty of people get married young and it works out fine. Then there are people who get married when they're older and it ends in divorce.

But I do get what you are saying about New Moon, Fawkes. Bella isn't really a good role model.

I think its a bit late to save this from spoilers so I have edited the original post title to warn people the thread contains spoilers, you can now carry on with your full of spoilers discussion.

I loved The Host. I loved it more than Twilight. I came to this thread before I finished it, though, so I knew the ending when I was only halfway through the book. But I still enjoyed it.

Don't worry Riley, I don't think it's even possible to spoil every twist in Breaking Dawn.

first things first, I think that HP is better than Twilight and always will be.
Also without all the hype from the 7th book and the 6th movie Twilight would never have been so popular

Woo hoo! I have just discovered Stephanie Meyer... and I LOVE IT! But.. I have only read Twilight and have just started New Moon. So. I did not read anything else in here after I started seeing things about someone getting married young. Thank heavens I didn't accidently see who she married!

Right, so I have to say, HP forever! Twilight is awesome, but HP has a lot more depth, and has so many little subplots and characters. So far the 'human' characters in this series are relatively shallow, and I'm dying to see what happens with Mike... Edward did say "He's getting on my nerves." I'm not hoping for much though.. just enjoying the ride! But I expect you all know.. so I"m not ASKING i'm just wondering.

Oh! and soooooooooooooon the Potter movie 6 will be out.... so we'll have heaps to talk about then. I haven't seen Twilight either.. out over here on April 22...... *so excited*.

As well.. I've heard that she is not going to release Midnight Sun now that it has leaked on the internet! So does that mean it's ok to read it now? I'm not sure about online book sites.. never had the opportunity to look.. would be interested to know how they work.. do u subscribe?
