Most of the times, Holly do not worry.

And why would you feel embarassed?

It seems we can't help it.

Ok, about the topic one question. If a spell is blocked where does it goe? (I mean if they change direction with the block, it can hit another wizard?)

you never hear of that...i think the block is like a wall of magic that just absorbs the spell into it

hrmm, remember inthe 4th book, where draco and harry's spells sort of bounce off eachother and hit hermoine and golye (or maybe crabbe?) I just thought that was interesting...

But, as for the question, I think that blocking them does somehow absorb the spell, so it wont' rickoshay (hrmm, spelling?) off and hit someone else!

sorry this is hugely off topic but i cant help it....

you know when you say hrmm....well you always remind me of the ents in lotr....thats what treebeard says when hes thinking.....

Theory: Holly Golightly is an ent in disguise....

so sorry...back to topic now.....

yes...the bounce back if you both try to curse...and get absorbed if one curses and one blocks....

must be pretty dangerous being a spectator at a wizard dual....

Well, how strange is it that in the duels that we have seen so far, there has been no real chance for those kinds of accidents... they have simply thrown one spell, and then waited for their oponent to throw one back.. maybe there is some weird kind of etticute (sp) there and we just dont' know about it??? :-?

i don't think spells are absorbed - I think they don't work if you block them. Like when you cast a spell, you just say couple of words that help you sent that um....energy at someone and if its blocked than those words just fall apart. Like it just....breakes....

(did that makes sence......at all.... :D )

By the way whats and ent?

I do understand what you mean Mint, and I think that it's what I was thinking too, just didnt' know how to describe it, so I went along with Sonkem's absorbs thing!

And to Sonkem... *I just noticed the ent thing now* maybe I really am!!! I think that the Ents are absolutely wonderful, definately the best thing in the books! (I wasn't too fussed with them the first time I saw them in the movie, but they have grown on me and I love 'em now!!!) I would totally love to be an Ent!!!

an ent is a creature in Middleearth (j r r tolkien)...they look like trees but they can walk, talk, think, they are called tree sheperds because they look after trees, the can herd them accross countryside and stuff......they are one of the oldests races on Middleearth...although...holly would be an entwife actually (the female version)

yeah, but entwife doesn't sound half as cool... Hrmm, why do the guys alwyas get the good names???

I also wonder what happend to the curses (spells, whatever) that dont' hit the person that they are meant for... ie int he end of hte 4th, teh DE's are all trying to spell Harry and it says that he could hear the curses hitting the headstones...

Thoughts??

If a spell is blocked I don't thin it just dissapears; I mean spells seem to be energy, it cant be destroyed only transformed. SO I think that if a spell is blocked at least the wizard that blocked it will feel a kind of energy pushing him backwards, or something like that.

And entwife may not sound that cool, but you will be very special, they aren't any left in middleearth
