Dont' really know.. they are a strange bunch of people... It's like they can be scared/bribed into ding something, but further scared into doing something that will put them into a much worse predicament... ie when they went against Lucious, he might well ahve went around and cursed all their families, and just because DD was back, it wasnt' necessarity going to save Ginny... ?

They are just a very persuadeable bunch of people it seems!

Nah, I see Fudge as a real schemer kind of guy...w iththe exception of beign very angry, like in GoF, I think that he is the kind of person to take the diplomat stance... like he'll never actually tell people to their faces taht he thinks that they are doing a bad job, just tell others behind their backs... as in he'll always be nice to your face... make sense???

Yeah, good point. And Fudge definitely doesn't have the courage to remove Dumbledore. He looks up to him in a way and probably understands that if Dumbledore from the Headmaster post, then he'll no longer be able to use him as a means of obtaining advice. Remember, he sends owls to him daily seeking guidance. If Dumbledore were removed, Fudge would have no where to go for help and be stuck in an office that he really doesn't deserve and has no idea how to operate!

So Fudge is loving the power, but not really sure how to control it..so he needs DD...

Who else do you think that he can turn to for advice though... he must have someone else to advise him, just incase something happens to DD... back up plan of sorts??? I wonder who else he would trust as such...

I'm sure Hagrid was exagerating when he mentioned Harry that Fudge sent saily owls asking for advice; and to be the minister of magic you can't be a total fool, just that DD knows more.
And by now we don't anyone that wise, do we?

You can be if you know people in high places! I've been under the impression that Fudge got the job based purely on his connections and not on his capabilities.

And as to who he'd consult. Lupin? Black? Malfoy? Snape? McGonnagal? Those are all names of wise/powerful people that come to mind.

I totally agree that it wasnt' his capabilities... but maybehis connections were those of the kindof which people to pay off to make sure he got the position...

I dont' know why, but I think that he did something very dodgy to get the position of Minister of Magic!!!
