Is it usually so quiet around here?

Postby Lizzy Bennet » Monday 2 June 2003 9:45:02pm

I was just wondering . . . since I am a new member as of today and no nothing of how things usually are around this Forum . . . is this a pretty busy Forum or a pretty quiet one? So far, it's been quiet, but then, I've only been here a day! hehehe

I was just wondering, because though I'm tempted to reply to so many posts (I've enjoyed what I've read so far! :D ), I'd hate to be one of the only people posting and look like I've taken over the Forum! Any insights from anyone how 'active' this Forum is and if it's usually active and isn't right now, then why?

I'm presuming if the latter is the case--that it's just quiet for now--that the reasons would be exams, school, or waiting for the 5th book. Any ideas? I'm just curious, really . . . just trying to get a 'feel' for what this place is like. And again, I don't want to look like I'm 'taking over' because there's lots I'd like to post in response to. :) Just let me know . . . thanks!

Welcome Bumblebee!

And you're right, things usually aren't this quiet. A lot of people have exams and finals, and are busy studying and what not. Believe me, once exams start to wrap up for everyone, which is probably in a week or two, it'll be crazy again. And then we'll all have plenty to discuss with the fifth book.

And don't worry about it looking like you're taking over the forum. Post all you want! And have fun!

Yeah, whenever I come here theres usually a billion new posts, and I can't ever read all of them and I usually end up not posting at all,
<-- notice the unusually low post count.

I should start posting a bunch more when summer comes...

Yeah, exams take too much time (well, really it is the study what takes somuch time)
But do not worry about posting everywhere (I do it, and in less than two months have over 1000 posts  )

I've really been impressed with how friendly a group (without being cliqueish and such) this is. I even noticed that when newbies didn't introduce themselves, many of you went ahead and welcomed them . . . nice touch! :D

So, although it's been relatively quiet (and, apparently, quieter than usual) thanks for the friendly welcomes and pleasant responses to my posts as well as others. :) It's so nice to see a forum online where people not only post intelligently, but can also have fun and be nice without resorting to being rude and insulting. Cheers to Paul and to everyone! :-)
