Neo, I don't have the time to read them again Plus, I rarely re-read books......I think I've done it like ...once for one book.
I'll try to look over them before 21 st though. May be I will read the end of Book 4....yeah thats a good idea!

but if voldemort still had a body once the curse backfired and he set fire to the house wouldnt people have seen him leave the place and so know he was still alive since hed be in no fit state to use magic having just about killed himself.....

Definitely the body was destroyed when the curse backfired, that's why Voldemort had to live in the body of other animals.
Probably sacrificing his body, for making his soul survive after he was "killed", was the magic he discover for being able to do that.

Voldie's body definately died... which is why he needed a new one... I doubt that it did a dust thing like quirells, I'd just say that his body dies, like allt he other with that curse, you know, heart just stops beating etc... and then the house burnt down, thus cremating it. But it would have been useless to him even if it didnt' burn down, after all, how do you make a body that's been dead for 12yrs start functioning again???

but if the body didnt instantly vanish wouldnt hagrid have seen it when he went to collect Harry since it should have been directly infront of haryy on the floor??

i mean Hagrid cant have otherwise he wouldnt say all that stuff to harry about some people thinking volde died and him thinking that volde didnt because if hagrid had seen the dead body of volde he would have instantly beleived volde was completely dead

I just assumed that Hagrid meant morelike what actually happened... you know, that his body was dead, but the rest of him was kinda still wandering, being not human enough to die...
