Being logged-off at random...

Maybe I'm the only one this has happened to (and it's only been happening to me today! LOL), but although I am permanently 'logged-in', the system keeps logging me out at random! I find I have to keep logging in. It's very odd and peculiar! Anyone have any ideas why or how this is happening??

Provided your cookies are enabled properly on your browser and your IP address doesn't change, you should be able to stay logged in for 5 hours continously. If you have a dial-up connection and were logged off the internet by your Internet Service Provider, you may have been given a different IP address when logging on again. If you use broadband I'm not exactly certain how IP addresses work but I've read something about constantly changing IP addresses for some broadband services, so this may be the problem (although I'm not sure how long it would be between changes and I've seen days quoted rather than minutes or hours but it may depend on the service provider).

Eek - although I'd tested the cookies extensively before, I think there was still some kind of problem with them not being correctly set in the first place (I didn't think I'd missed anything but it may be that I hadn't checked every single combination of trying to get this to work in the past - if it was my fault I'm truly sorry for all the hassle). I've fixed this tonight, so the log log-out problems should hopefully not be occurring any more.
