i've played violin for 4 years, and am trying to learn the piano. the violin is awesome, but i have to practice too much... :( i have a private teacher who is really good (he even has a CD! not in stores, though. he was also on tv one time. he's not famous, but good enough to be noticed every once in a while! :-) ) i dont have very much natural music talent...and in order to be at all good i have to practice ALOT. and it gets rather annoying. but, i like the violin! especially when no one is making me play. like, i was on vacation for 2 weeks and during those two weeks i didn't have my violin I felt like playing it. but when i came home, and my mom told me i needed to catch up with it, i dreaded picking it up! i love any kind of music, though, and being able to play the violin is very cool in itself.

i am also trying to teach myself the piano, but not very commited. just like fooling around

You should so commit yourself to piano. Violin is so hard. I am so jealous of you hehe. I want to play violin. If you can play that piano is a breeze.
For all the Wisconsinites in here. Go D*MN Yankees!!! (and random sax players)

violin's not that hard... probably harder than some instruments but don't be daunted by how hard it may seem. you should give it a try! :)

my mom played the piano and we just got one. i can play treble cleff pretty easily since i can read music...but bass cleff is harder since the notes are different. :( that part i dont like :-? . i tried to get my mom to teach me but we never got farther than one lesson

All cows eat grass for space notes and good boys do fine always for lines? I know what you mean it is hard but you git used to it. My problem isn't the notes. I needa go to rythem school. In fact I wrote this song on piano( really pretty if i do say so myself) but i can't figure out what time signiture it is in. Can it be in anything or i have to fill a measure cleanly? I am so confused :???:

Any Musicians at BaO????

I've been singing in choirs since I was eight. I love singing, and although I am not the best I hope to do something with music later on in my career...

peace out

Its Well amazing that there are so many musical people here, maybe its a thing with HP fans!

Try learning the guitar its so great to play and quite easy to pick up.

there are sites on the net which will show you the basic chords and thats all you really need to know
then you can go on a tabs website and get any song you like

ok..my 'love' is singing, i adore it and i can totally loose myself in it..i also play piano fairly well, guitar fairly well and violin fairly well..not fantasically but not bad..i could get away with being in a huge strings section of an orchestra for instance..but really singing makes me feel so strong and individual..i love it so much!!!
