Hey Meg,

I know this topic is very old now and you've already made your decision but I finally decided to get round to writing my two penneths.

The reason for the hesitation, believe it or not I've actually nearly replied to this topic three times, was that it hits a little too close to home for my liking. I was the boy you mentioned in my previous relationship...thus it didn't work due to the same reasons that yours did not.

Although the situations were slightly different, I thought I'd add a bit from my own experience of the aftermath. I, sadly cannot really speak of my ex, who would be you in this case...suffice to say she appears to be stronger for this, and I am now stronger and wiser also.

I believe you've made the right decision, even though it was a tough one. You should be pround of yourself.

Thanks to everyone here who helped out...it really did help me a lot. My new ex seems to be taking it well, and I feel a lot better now. We still talk, and I hope we will stay to be good friends!

I heart all of you guys who helped me out...you guys are all first rate pals..

ok..horror struck

my ex boyfriend joined, and he read this post...
...and we had a falling out...but he forgave me, but I still feel awful

So I would like to say sorry to CoachVanBuren...

I love you so much as a friend...you have no idea...but it just didn't feel right, and I know you love me in a more than friends way and are probably really hurt by my childish actions...i would still like to be friends, and I hope you don't want to let me take your radio to bathe with me, plugged in and ready to fall...

relationships

Postby highsorcerer » Monday 11 August 2003 2:21:55am

From my own experience, I can say this. In my late 20s, I dated a girl for almost 2 years, and nearly asked her to marry me. She broke it off with me before I could propose. And it was the right thing. The marriage would not have worked.

What I can say is that the pain of a breakup is nothing compared to the pain of a divorce, particularly when their are children. Children are victims; innocent ones.
