and I also like "The UW_Madison Varsity Band"...my mom won their 5th Quarter cd and I love it...my goal is next year to play either a silver saxophone or a white clarinet in that band...

Ugh, the White Stripes, it's all my local radio station plays. I swear, if I hear Seven Nation Army one more time my head might explode! But I guess their stuff that they dont play on the radio is okay. Have any of you heard of Tsunami Bomb? They are a great punk band with this awesome girl lead singer, I would highly advise all of you to go check them out!

Accio, I bought a Vagrant Records CD sampler for 4 bucks at Best Buy a few weeks ago and Tsunami Bomb is on there a bunch of times, and I really like them. At first I thought the singer was a guy with a horrible falscetto, but then I looked in the insert and saw it was a girl...whoops...as for The White Stripes beinging on the radio HOW UNFAIR IS THAT????? I mean out here all we get is rap and pop and the occational poser pop punk!!!!!! Man, I want a radio station that plays The White Stripes!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't even care how often they play it atleast it isn't Snoop Dog or Nelly or whatever those rappers are called!!!!!! ARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

On Saturday I am going to see Harry and the High Fives in concert at The Rave in Milwaukee, I AM SO EXCITED!!! (even though I am really good friends with the drummer and see him everyday, I am still pumped!)

I'm glad to see that everyone has such good taste at this forum!

Meg, dont be too jealous of my radio station. Keep in mind, I live in metro detroit so like the majority of stations are rap/hip/r&b or cheezy TRL pop. I mean dont get me wrong, but a person can only take so much of that! I try to retreat to the local (only) "alternative" station with some small hope of hearing some decent punk, but all I get is the new good charlotte and popular alternative songs. The only time they play good music is on the "homeboys" show which showcases local bands and "canadian exports" which is canadian bands. And sadly, my local "alternative" station plays eminem. I just dont get how he is alternative?! Also, the reason that I hear the White Stripes so much is because they are a local band that made it big, so that means they are on the alternative and pop stations.

Some other bands that I am listening to a lot lately are Syd and the Voo Doo Glowskulls
