Gower, I think it works fine in other languages as I first saw something like this in my mother tongue (portuguese). And I can read that (french) sentence you wrote. So I think it proves it's possible to make it in other tongues...

Ahh, a language thread...Hehe, there are so many rules with the english lanugage. The whole point of a language (i think) is so you can get your points across to other ppl. Its very hard to express yourself without a language, you have no way of saying anything to others so you can try to get them to understand you. I dont know if there should be rules in the enlgish language. If you can understand the other person, then thats fine! IN Jototmicrons quote, you can still understand it. I dont think these rules of the first and last letter have to be in the right place should occur. If you can understand others, then its good. That is why The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is such a famous novel. It was the 1st novel that had bad grammer, but still you could udnerstand it. And Their Eyes were Watching GOD, by Zora Hurston, all the words are spelled as they sound. This is a very debatable topic, so im just putting my ideas here, feel free to disagree.

Oh, be sure: if I really disagreed, I'd say it...

But I don't.
I think the languages are just soo ruled because we are humans, and humans tend to make rules for everything (just look at science: I don't mean it's bad - as a matter of fact, it great - but WHAT does science do? Just makes rules for everything in our Universe). That's just our nature...

I disagree with you for both things
firstly if languages have rules, it is so that people understand themselves, if not, we'd be like cats and dogs only with more elaborate barks ...

also science discovers the rules of our universe and certainly doesn't make them (if that was, we would certainly be able to fly !) although I agree that it is our nature to try and find rules for everything, to try and explain

did anyone catch what was wrong with that phrase??? Written correctly people's minds are tricked into reading the the phrase as they WISH it to be, not as they actually SEE it.
