i'm reading this book, and probably will finish it in the next two days, and Wow, its great, if you havn't read it, you should, it's alot like harry potter in the sense of fantasy, there are dragons, and magic and elves, its real good, and the best part is that it is written by a 16 year old, just wow, you all should read it

looks like Barnes and Noble is pushing this one pretty hot and heavy. The display holding this book was huge...it surpassed the size of the display for HP boxed sets and the display was positioned between the back of the bestsellers area and the teen section but at the entrance of the kids section. It was hugely prominent. I'd already chosen a book but tried to talk DH into getting this one. He's not much into reading but he likes books like this so I suggested he'd like it (which he would) knowing that I'd get to read it as well. Ah well, I will pick it up next trip to the bookstore. (Instead I got Middlemarch by George Eliot.)

I've seen some things about it in Books-a-Million too.

When I first saw the title to this thread, I was like, Eragon....Aragorn?? It's Aragorn's long lost twin brother Eragon...bwahahahaha...

OMG, I just finished reading this -- it is excellent! Part 2 in the trilogy, Eldest, I think the next book is called is coming out August 30th -- I preordered it on Amazon.com.

I had intended for DH to read this one and tried to get him to buy it but he didn't realize I thought he should read it so he bought it for me for Christmas and I only just got around to reading it this week. It is VERY different than the HP series but just as good. Really, it is just as good. I am totally not into books about dragons but this was superb.

If you didn't know the age of the author, you would never guess it. It is so well written. I'm in my mid-30's and it kept my interest....I never felt like, oh this one was best left for kids...never felt that way at all. LOVED this book and can't wait till August for the next installment in the trilogy!

What a summer it will be, HP in July, this in August!

I haven't been able to get a copy of it yet, so I'm entertaining myself meanwhile reading The Hobbit and LOTR. If you think LOTR is slow at the beginning and it's a hard read or something, I suggest you read The Hobbit first, it's a good book and it hooks you quickly into the world. Or you could just watch the movie lol. I went to the world premiere of that actually! In Wellington NZ lol.
