The Heir Of Slytherin??

This is a theory that I have after re-reading the second book. I take it we are all pretty suss on the theory that Harry is the Heir of Gryffindor? And we all know that Voldemort is the heir of slytherin.
Ddore states to Harry at the end of this book when Harry asks him about being able to speak parseltongue that LV indeed passed on some of his powers the night he tried to kill harry.
Could this in anyway be a revelation that harry now has a link to slytherin
too as well as Gryffindor? I mean the sorting hat saw in harry everything that slytherin liked in his students, and the fact that he can speak parseltongue like slytherin! Yet he also has the traits of Gryffindor, the gold and red from his wand in book one, and the sword of Godric in CoS. 'Only a true gryffindor could have pulled that out'. Could this be the thread that may appear again in books 6 and 7? What does anyone else think?

Maybe Harry is the descendent of both Gryffindor and Slytherin!

Voldemort had a daughter...and ta-da, his daughter married James Potter! And probably Voldemort didn't even know he had a daughter...so he didn't know Harry was his grandson...and the Potters carried the bloodline of Gryffindor...

Anyway! It is a bit of a weird theory but quite intresting, I somehow doubt that lily is voldermorts daughter though, it doesnt seem very likely.
But it might be something picked up on in the other books...... just have to wait and see!

I siriously belive Harry is Gryffindor's Hair. But after Voldemort's attempt to kill him, he passed lots of power to the little baby, including some of his heritage (that's what I think, anyway).

regarding the thread though, i think we will be learning a hell of a lot more about harry and voldies true relationship as i think there is alot more to it than dumbledore has mentioned so far

I don't know for sure that I buy into the Lily-is-related-to-Voldything, but there's one thing that I think suggests that more than anything? Anyone bothered to count how many frikkin times we hear about Lily's (and Harry's) "startlingly green eyes"? Where else does green come up? Slytherin colors... Avada Kedavra (?) light color... Green doesn't seem to be the nice color.

ooh thats a really good point actually, i hadnt thought about that before. but u're right, green hasnt been presented as a nice colour at all though the books. and while i dont think that harry/lily is evil at all. It may show a connection to slytherin?

I think that Lily and Harry having a tie to Slytherin would fit in perfectly with the point Ms. Rowling has been saying all along: It's our choices who determine who we are. Wouldn't it be nice to see an "heir of Slytherin" choose to be good like Percy (a Gryffendor and a git) prove to be not-nice?

i think that's a good point! i totally agree with the whole green thing and have often pondered this thought myself, but then think ummm.... maybe not. i dunno. but that is a valid point that you have made, there athena and maybe that could be how the houses could unite together over this war thats coming!
