Book 6 Release date REVEALED!!!

Postby Athena Appleton » Thursday 29 January 2004 5:39:59am

Ahhhh, I don't know... just rereading OotP and noticed a line... Knowing Ms. Rowling's style, if she cuts off someone or you only hear part of what they say, pay attention.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix, Chapter 35-Beyond the Veil, pg. 784 and 785

A jet of red light had shot from the end of Bellatrix Lestrange's wand, but Malfoy had deflected it. His spell caused hers to hit the shelf a foot to the left of Harry and several of the glass orbs there shattered.

Two figures, pearly white as ghosts, fluid as smoke, unfurled themselves from the fragments of broken glass upon the floor and each began to speak. Their voices vied with each other, so that only fragments of what they were saying could be heard over Malfoy and Bellatrix's shouts.

"...at the Solstice will come a new..." said the figure of an old bearded man.

Ms. Rowling could have been telling us that the next book will come out at Summer solstice or Winter solstice. Or the new movie, or something like that... just reaching, though. :-) It'll be fun to hear other people's response to this.

lol, you notice so much in the books that i totally seem to overlook!
well seeing as it was the summer that harry and neville were born i'm guessing that she was referring to them. but you maybe right?

Hm.......wow! Good observation! But maybe it's not the book to come out, but something in the book will happen...but then again, wasn't June 21st, the release date of book five, summer solstice?

I've already read that line a thousand times, trying to understand what does it mean! But I've never thought it could be something related to the the real world... Nah! I don't think she will be that fast! But it's a good spot!

Yeah I don't know, I just like to be evil and post stuff like that... 8-)

I don't know a thing about the solstices, except that there's a summer and a winter one...

I think I heard somewhere that when book 5 came out, J.K.R. had a significant part of book 6 finished, and that it's supposed to be a lot shorter than books 4 and 5... dunno.

HUSH YO MOUTH!!!!

 man, i'm so white... heehee!

I just made this thread up to mess with everyone's heads. I know nothing about the solstices, and last year when the release date for the book was in June, they had already announced it in January.

I've done some thinking, though... I don't think she put this line in here for no reason...

The summer solstice is around the time Harry and Co. get out of school (correct me if I'm wrong), which traditionally coincides with the end of the book (going home to the Dursleys). It also coincides with the climax of the books.

"...at the Solstice will come a new..." (reign of terror?)
"...at the Solstice will come a new..." (time of peace?)

I think it's a reference to whatever the climax will be in either Book 6 or Book 7...

Summer Solstice is the name of the moment the Earth is most closely to the Earth (I don't know if this is a correct sentence... but you got the point). It's the beggining of the Summer, around June 21. So, yeah... it's some days before they get out of Hogwarts. Which can absolutely mean that it is related to the second war and Harry/Voldemort!!
