Ron Heir?

Postby Herminny » Thursday 29 January 2004 3:30:15am

Is it possible that Ron is the Heir of Gryffindor? The weasleys have been in gryffindor basically forever. (in first book Ron tells harry that everyone in his family has been in gryffindor.) also the hat doesn't take long to decide to place him in gryffindor. I can't remember exactly in the book but in the movie
Another Weasley hey, I know just what to do with you....GRYFFINDOR

And there is the whole red hair thing.
And arthur particuarly defends muggles. Just like Godric wanted to accept muggle borns into the school. And they have all shown bravery of somesort. Not to mention they are purebloods.

What do you think :???:

Verrrrrrry interesting! Those were all very good points. I'd have to read some more, but I don't see why they couldn't be the heirs of Gryffendor... But there is all this evidence that Harry is the heir of Gryffendor. Would he be related to the Weasleys? And Molly and Arthur are both related to Sirius (the noble house of Black puts out a LOT of Slytherins)... dunno... It's an interesting theory, though! :-)

Actually, the quote you have is only on the movies... of course JKR was there to supervise what they were saying, to make sure nothing would contradict what she had in mind for the other books. But I think that, because it's only a movie thing, we cannot make theories out of it!

That's what I think, thought, but I might be muistaken!!!

I was thinking about what you said about the Weasley hair color... Family members are almost always described in similar terms (physically).

Colin and Dennis are both small and mousey. Padma and Parvati are twins. The Weasleys all have red hair. (I think) Lucius and Draco Malfoy (and even Narcissa) are described as looking alike. Harry has black hair that sticks up in the back just like James. Vernon, Dudley and Aunt Marge are all fat with no neck.

I think the red hair thing is to distinguish them as Weasleys. That's about it.

yeah, i dont think that he is the heir to gryffindor, cause that would mean that everyone else in his family would be too, and arthur would be the most rightful heir (being the most senior in the family), if it is anyone, i'm still thinking it will have to be harry, he's the last of his family line, and it just fits with the story, i mean we know that voldemort is the heir to slytherin, so it's pretty obvious that there will have to be an heir of gryffindor b/c he is the only one who ever opposed and wasn't scared of slytherin and i think that it is definatly harry who is the heir for a few reasons (two main ones that i'll mention and many others)

-the whole thing with the prophecy and the connection to voldemort. I think that we will find out that there is somthing similar between gryffindor and slytherin's relationship with harry and voldemort's
-it just plain fits with the story (and if it was ron it would be the Ronald Weasly series)

i can remember rumours going round that harry was related to the weasleys. i'm not saying that i necessarily agree but it was something along the lines of harry's mum having flaming red hair too. It was in the 1st book when he looked in the mirror of erised

Well, if James was from a pure-blood family (wich he is) then he would nerly for sure be to the weaslys, after all Siruis was Molly`s second cousin or something like that...

i don't know actually...

I just personally think that Harry would be the heir because he got the sword and all...

However it would be an excellent twist to credit Ron with something wonderful and important

yeah, i know!
when i was rereading the books, it occured to me: ron's going to be head boy. When he's looking in the Mirror of Erised, he sees himelf holding the house cup, having won at quidditch, and head boy.

Harry was 'classified' as a half-blood because his mother was of muggle born. So I was thinking his father, James, had to be a pure-blood. Otherwise, Harry would be 'classified' as a quater blood :???:

Actually the whole classification idea was quite confusing because in order to be a pure-blood, the bloodline has to be entirely made up of pure-blood wizards and witches.
