Aberforth Dumbledore. Why? He's been mentioned in the books, so he is of importance. He was in the original Order but he's absent in this one. Maybe he'll do a special assignment for the order like keeping an eye on Harry. Anyways, thats my thought!

hmmmm... well, so far, she's used characters never mentioned before. it's possible, i guess, that Aberforth could be the new DADA teacher. I think he'll come into play somewhere, but I don't think it'll be as the new DADA teacher... I think it'll, once again, be someone we don't know of.

I dont know about aberforth cause we havent heard that much about him, which makes me wonder why.
but if dumbledore's character is anything to go buy then aberforth would seem to be pretty suibtable for the job as DADA teacher, and he would be really good to look after harry.

I don't think he will be the next DADA teacher, though. I think JKR will keep it secret until the last book.

My personal belief is that it will be some totally new character... althoug it would be great if DD became DaDA teacher, McGonagall Headmistress and they brought in some new caracter for Tranfiguration... not very probable though...

what kind of petty crime did Aberforth commit? Dumbledore mentions it at one time. I still don't think he'll be the new DADA teacher, and I don't think they'll mix up the staff at Hogwarts like that... someone new is still my bet...

Aberforth committed some little crime i think Dumbledore referred to it as "putting inapropriate charms on a goat"! LOL. Personally, i think it will be a character that we haven't heard anything about before. In the past books, it has always been a character that hasnt been mentioned in previous books.

here is a thought! what is dumbledore actually became the DADA teacher? After all he defeated a dark wizard of his age... Grtindelwald. We know Dumbledore is a powerful wizard after all he is the only one that voldemort fears... plus we know dumbledore has the powers, it;s just that he is too noble to use them, what if the time came when he did have to use them?

just a thought!

oh thats in book 7 by the way, i think if that was to happen jk would leave it til the last book!!

ya know, a lot of people have suggested that Dumbledore will be a DADA teacher, and I'm just not convinced of it. i don't think rowling would do something so out of the blue like that, and i do feel like it would be out of the blue...

I do think there's a possibility Snape could get the post (finally) in the last book... but there's a lot that could happen that could keep him from it, too... actually, i don't think he'll be the 7th DADA teacher we know, i think he'll be the 8th (like he'll get the post for the year after Harry finishes school). Could be totally off on that, and it all depends on how long J.K. Rowling draws out the is-snape-really-on-our-side thing.

in a way, though, i think (for now) dumbledore is keeping snape away from anything having to do with dark arts, much the same way as anything with alcohol is kept away from a reformed alcoholic. I think dumbledore trusts snape, but is unwilling to let snape be anywhere near the temptation.

if i'm right (and i could very well be totally off on this), something in the next two books will either confirm or completely disprove snape's loyalty. I think it'll be confirmed. If that happens in book 6, he might be the book 7 DADA teacher. if it doesn't happen until book 7, he could find out at the end of the series that he'll get to be the DADA from then on.

Tonks for DADA teacher! therefore harry will learn how to become a metamorphamagi! Snape will become DADA teacher on the last book! JKR will make sure theres a new DADA teacher in each book. After all the jobs cursed!

well apparently snape does something to redeem himself doesn't he? i don't know what it is, and i don't have any theories, just rumours that i've heard!
