yes, and here is another thing, what happens when a vampire bits you.............. you become a vampire, so unless hogwarts is filled with vampire students, he hasn't been biting anyone

...and Snape, as Potion teacher, would certainly know it...

Still, I don't belive Snape is a Vampire (I'm just so strange: I agree AND justify something, but then reply , saying I don't belive me... STrange me!!! :) )

well, I always find very interesting to discuss pros and cons for theories...

BTW
what happens when a vampire bits you.............. you become a vampire

that depend on whos version of who is what vampires are you take... in anne rice`s books you only become a vampire if you drink a vampires blood...

on the other hand, its perfectly possible that Snape might be a part-vampire, although I dont know what that mean or if vampire-wizard relations are actully possible...

I just remembered something, about what you said. JKR made fairies 'tiny unintelligent' creatures. CREATURES! Not 'pleasant, fantastic, marvellous' persons. She changed the "normal" (I mean, the usual) way. She could do the same with vampires: actually, I think she describes them (aka Newt Scamander) as common and undangerous creatures... (if I'm not mistaken)

Joto: definately agree! In fact, one thing that I think is kind of the "moral" to the Harry Potter stories is never take someone or something at face-value. There are all kinds of instances that she uses opposites of what we would expect.

Fluffy = a vicious monster
Norbert = a vicious monster
Fang = a sweet puppy
Snape = a good guy
Bagman = not-too-good guy
Quirrell = bad guy
Scabbers = a man

I think it's likely she could have warped the definition of vampires, too.

but still i dont think she would have changed things that much. with the other things that you mentioned there is a definate hint of irony in all of them, ie fluffy being the evil 3 headed dog!Q

well... hmm... we'll see. I dont think i even think he's a vampire, but there are reasons to believe he could be, that's all i'm saying. :-)

Snape can't be a vampire! Surely the wizarding community wouldn't let a vampire teach their kids. Look what happened to lupin when they found out he was a werewolf! Also its a bit too obvious to have 2 main characters- one a werewolf one a vampire.

right...

1. I don't think that it would be common knowledge that Snape is a vampire.

2. The wizarding community is finicky. They're okay with a half-giant (many parents wrote Dumbledore saying that they'd have something to say about it if he fired Hagrid). The wizarding community is also corrupt. A werewolf who doesn't have many friends in high places doesn't stand a chance. Snape is good friends with someone who is good friends with the minister of magic. Lucius Malfoy has got his fingers in everyone's pie, and if he wants his buddy Snape to teach at Hogwarts, his buddy Snape will teach at Hogwarts.

3. There can't be a werewolf and a vampire? what about a half-giant? what about whatever the heck flitwick is (it's just not "right" to be that tiny and squeeky)?

okay... I don't really think snape is a vampire, just started this thread for the fun of it. if he is, no, i don't think he turns into a bat, i think technically that would count as being an animagus and I don't think he is an unregistered animagus....

I don't believe Snape (I love the english name :grin: ) is a vampire. But I think he owns a important secret.

I think he is a animagus because J.K Rowling always compares the characters with different animals but Snape is always comparated with a bat. It's always the same animal: a bat
(but I don't believe it's his secret)
