Poor DD, I really think he will die in the last book. But as he says: death is only the next big adventure (or somthing similar)! And he sure is an organized mind, indeed he is!

Athena Appleton wrote:Madam Maxime: derived from the word "maximum" or largest of a group or set. It's also a pun, as in French, the word "maxime" means maxim, which refers to rules and conduct. Very appropriate for a headmistress.

Olympus, her first name, is the name of the great mountain where the gods and godesses lived (in greek mythology). It is also the name of the bigger mountain in the Solar System, which is located in Mars and is 27km high (on Earth, the greatest one is 8km: the Hymalayas (sp?)?. Olympus is a vulcan . can these mean Madame Maxime is goinmg to 'explode'?? Duh... j/k

Well, another thing that went over-the-top was a friend of mine who is into astronomy. It appears that the star Sirius is not only the "dog star" but is also a binary sistem (two stars orbiting each other) in which Sirius A is is the one you see and Sirius B is a dwarf star which you cant really see, its an "occult" star which according to my pal represents Sirius`s double nature: convicted murderer/nice godfather

confusing? :???:

Oh yeah, he does say that! Now I think that he may die after all. SO I guess McGonnal will be head mistress?

lol gettin off topic..

I think it's common knowledge that "Remus" is the name of one of a set of twins who were raised by a shewolf, but is anyone else wondering what the middle initial "J" stands for?

They say nothing in the [urlhttp://www.hp-lexicon.org/wizards/lupin.html]HP Lexicon[/url] about that middle name! But where does it say that is middle name begins with J? Is it in the Books? Perhaps in the suitcase when he came to Hogwarts?

I think it's on the train, he's introduced to us as R. J. Lupin. I don't remember, it might be on he suitcase... lemme go look...

Yes, here's the quote:

"Who d'you reckon he is?" Ron Hissed as they sat down and slid the door shut, taking the seats farthest away from the windows.
"Professor R. J. Lupin," whispered Hermione at once.
"How d'you know that?"
"It's on his case," shereplied, pointing at the luggage rack over the mn's head, where there was a small, battered case held together with a large quantity of neatly knotted string. The name Professor R. J. Lupin was stamped across one corner in peeling letters.

**Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban, chapter five

hmmm... he's been a professor for a while, if the letters are peeling off his case... where/what/who did he teach before?

Good work, there!

Not sure about it, it was on various HP sites. But I'm a bit doubting about it, because I couldn't find anything about Voldemortist on other than HP sites (I'll need to ask my friend, he's an expert on Arthurian legends) and I've read somewhere that JKR denied Voldemort has anything in common with Voldemortist, she just invented the name.

It's interesting, and it probably influenced her final decision to go with "Voldemort"... I still can't get over the "flight from death" thing... exactly what Ol' Voldy did...
