I'm pretty certain that Gryffindor hasn't got a Keeper yet. I'll go into the heart of the database and check out the other positions tomorrow. I should be able to write a program in the next few weeks that will allow folks to automatically see who's who in each team :-)

Wow, Paul, that's a good idea. I tried to call people for the first practice in the Slytherin Common Room and then I discovered we don't have a lot of positions. But maybe I am wrong...

Ooohoo! Keeper, yippeee!

Hey....that's what my Oliver is!

Meh-eh--when did I start calling him 'my Oliver'?? Gah.

Oh..well...

Oh C'mon you guys--I think he's so adorable. So, can he be metaphorically mine?

But anyway, Paul--if I could be Keeper, that'd be just great. I'd love it--thank you!! I'm so glad I might get a position! Yippee....

Quidditch Positions

Postby Paul » Tuesday 8 October 2002 1:15:09am

Broccoli - it looks like you've got yourself as Chaser and a Nemoi as Slytherin Keeper so far :)

I think bewitchin was interested in Gryffindor Keeper position a while ago, but she has had to concentrate on her studies at the moment so has (hopefully temporarily) been away from the forum for a while, so yes, the position is free for now, so congratulations Luna Puella - you're now the Gryfindor keeper! :double jump:

In due course, when all positions are filled we'll need to sort out what to do if more folks wish to join in or would like to have positions, to be fair to everyone including newer members, but how that can be done can be sorted out at a later stage.

Meanwhile the current positions are:

Gryffindor Quidditch Team
Beaters - Shadow and Charles Nicholson
Chasers - hermionegirl09, foster.sy and Neo
Keeper - Luna Puella
Seeker - Melody Granger

Hufflepuff Quidditch Team
Beater - beccaroo and littlelib
Chasers - ElvenMist, wilwizard and 12321
Keeper - Raveneye
Seeker - Sonkem

Ravenclaw Quidditch Team
Beaters - Quicksilver and Wedge
Chasers - Padfoot, GoldenSnitch and Holly Golightley
Keeper - the-rabid-chocobo
Seeker - TheDragonMaster

Slytherin Quidditch Team
Beaters - Deedra Malfoy, Krum
Chasers - Broccoli, Mistress Siana and Brandi Wood
Keeper - Nemoi
Seeker - CloakedShadow

Quidditch Referee
Chrestomanci

Quidditch Commentator
Draco Malfoy

I hope I've not missed anyone - most of the info here is from directly querying the user ranks in the database so if your Quidditch position isn't in the text of your rank (below your name when you post) I may have missed you. For the auto-postion checker program which I've got in mind, your rank will definitely need to include your Quidditch position, so if it currently doesn't, just ask and I'll get your rank updated :-)

You've got the place TheDragonMaster! :double jump:
I'll keep editing the list which I originally posted on 8th October 2002 (3 posts above this one on this page) to ensure it's up to date, until I have the chance to write the program I mentioned earlier.

Question, oh Minister of Magic...must one first become a "Fully Qualified Witch" before one can become a Quidditch player?

If not, I'd like to sign up as Slytherin Seeker.

Fully Qualified Witch status isn't required to be a Quidditch player so yes, most certainly.
Congratulations, Slytherin have got themselves a Seeker :double jump:

Oooh and there's a new Golden Snitch smilie too!

Minister of Magic, can I be another Quidditch referee? or at even a backup referee, like those backup chasers? :P

or better still, Quidditch commentator... i promise to be impartial during matches :)

I think everyone here would agree that Draco would make a kickass commentator... hmm...

Quidditch commentator sounds ideal. We'll definitely be needing one of those. Keep to that impartiality, and it'll be perfect, Draco (yikes, I'm trusting Draco Malfoy to be impartial!) :) :)

Mistress Siana has just become Slytherin Chaser by the way, so only one Chaser place left in Slytherin.
