Lily's death

I sincerely doubt Rowling would name a bad character Lily without at least SOMETHING else in the name hinting that there's a darker side to her.

Yep, Lily for me says pure but also death, in a mournful way.

However I think that Petunia hating wizards/some bad relations could come into the Lily's story though.

With the Lily = pure but also mournful death, I just associate that with the tragic way she died...

I definately think there's something more to Lily and also Petunia than what we know... Just don't think that it's that Lily has a "dark" secret or past...
