), and he listens politely while I ramble on about theories and such... the only thing I've said HP-wise that he's liked was that Aberforth (Dumbledore's brother) got in trouble for performing inappropriate charms on a goat... he nearly fell off the couch laughing...
However, since I've found BaO, he strongly encourages me in getting on and discussing HP for, I think, two reasons. 1. I leave him alone about it.
2. I'm always complaining about having no adult conversation and nothing to use my brain for (I'm a stay-at-home mommy... after a full day of Barney, peek-a-boo and peanut butter sandwiches, I start feeling pretty stupid)...
Since he's into his own weird stuff as much as I'm into Harry Potter, we've come to the conclusion that it's best to take a detatched interest in what the other's obsessions are... So I feign interest in Metroid games and buy him Tim Burton movies for his birthday, and he nods politely while I go off about St. Mungos being corrupt and takes me to see the HP movies when they come out.
Works out great.
My father wants to read it, too, i'll see how long it will take him to finish it.
