Magical Creatures & Where to Find Them

Postby 2F2Type_R » Saturday 28 December 2002 9:43:09pm

About to fork out some money for Magical Creatures and Where to Find Them and Quidditch Through the Ages.

Are they any good? (Heard they're for charity too, which is good)

Oh yeah, these books are definitely worth the $3.00 each that they cost. Loads of information, very interesting, and often quite funny. The Magical Beasts book is the best, since the copy belong to Harry, and is filled throughout with doodles, comments, and other such from Harry and Ron and Hermione and is quite funny.

Run out and buy them!

They are great! I have both Quidditch and the Creatures one! Lupin is right, the comments and doodles are funny! And I learned alot about Quidditch that I didnt know! I was quite suprised. It gives you a complete background information on Quidditch, and the Creatures one; a complete list of creatures from A-Z! Its great! I have read the Quidditch one a few times. Although, i took them on a trip i went to, and my suntan lotion leaked in my bag! :o I was so Pi$$3d! I swear! Grrrr! :x It got all over my Quidditch book and now the pages are all yellow and wil forever smell of sunscreen! I need to get a new one myself too! Sorry for the little story.... I will uhhh shut up now...

Yes! Those are awesome books. The comments are, like everyone else says, hilarious.

This book belongs to Harry Potter

Shared by Ron Weasley because his fell apart

Why don't you buy a new one then?

Write in your own book, Hermione!

You bought all those dungbombs on Saturday. You could have bought a new book instead.

Dungbombs RULE.

*lol* And all from memory too! Does anyone else have a favourite Quidditch team? I'm an avid Appleby Arrows fan, like I said.

Hiss at the Wasps!

I've read "Magical Creatures and where to find them" and "Quidditch through the ages", they're both great! I liked Harry and Ron's remarks in "Magical Creatures" and I laughed a lot reading Dumbledore's preface to "Quidditch through the ages".

I'd like to have a puffskein!!!
Ops, I have a doubt: is that the English name for that animal too? Because I've read them in Italian and they may have translated it, since they've changed nearly all the names... :(

Anyway, I really suggest that you buy them, Draco.

Usually you can get them in a book store, thats where I got mine and thats where I have seen them. I really really need to get a new one. The pages from the Quidditch one after the little 'sunscreen incident' not only smells and feels a little greasy, it yellowed the pages. :x

erm... apparently the book Magical Creatures book officially goes under the title Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them here in Australia and also in USA (under Scholastic), just found out

Dunno about in England (Bloomsbury). The one in Harry's booklist (in my copy of Chamber of Secrets at least) is Fantastic Creatures

Here's the pic, if Paul decides this infringes any copyright laws, well here's the link to the pic anyway =P :

Oh, and incidently the authors Newt Scamander (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) and Kennilworthy Whisp(Quidditch Through the Ages) are pseudonyms of Rowling herself.

As for me, I'll prolly buy that middle blue book, its both handbooks combined into one hardcover box set! how cool is that?! :D
