Harry and Lord Voldemort - the final battle

Postby Emma'I'm a real witch' » Wednesday 17 March 2004 12:32:25am

Just a thought that occured to me, if Harry and LV could not fight against each other in GoF then how are they going to fight the final battle that will kill one or the other of them?

Either they will have to fight using some other means than the use of wands or one of them uses a different wand?

Maybe it was just the type of spell they casted, one was a "defensive"(that's how I view the expelliarmus spell) spell and the other was offensive. Maybe if they are both out to kill then the wands would work???

I kind of agree with whoever said that there will be a different wand in there somewhere...

There are other ways to kill besides wands, and the Priori Incantium effect only works if both wants are in use at the same time (recall it didn't block Crucio or the mind control curse).

I imagine the final battle will take place at Hogwarts during graduation ceremonies, with the Death Eaters and their allies in full attack on the castle, the teachers, and the student body. Plenty of room for individual fights and final grudge matches - Neville verses Bellatrix, Lupin verses Pettigrew, Draco verses Ron, Hermoine against Crabbe and Goyle, and, of course, Harry verses Voldemort.

That would make quite a scene in the movie

That's what I would like - a grand battle on an epic scale with multiple sub-battles... kind of like the endings to Return of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace, and Attack of the Clones.

Oh yeah, it wouldn't be a battle without Hagrid taking out McNair. Nobody messes with his hippogriff. Nobody.

I would imagine Hermione taking on Pansy Parkinson. She hates that girl.

I also believe that the final battle will involve Hogwarts as in PS Hagrid sys that Voldemort didn't yet dare take on Hogwarts (when at the height of his power before killing James and Lily). Seems strange to drop that in without it becoming more important later on.

BTW, who is DD fighting - all the death eaters at once?

That would make quite a big scene!

I believe DD would be dueling all DE along with the Aurors. Hmm! If he is alive at that moment!

McGonagall would be ... hmm ... making sure people would live to tell that story, maybe she would guide the students into Hogsmead!

Maybe that's where we'll see Hogwarts united. Maybe all students form all houses will fight together. Rember when DD talked how important was that they all stick together, because if they're united, Voldemort's got no chance of winning.

I wouldn't know how many aurors would be around a Hogwart's graduation ceremony, or how many OOTP members would be either. Lupin and the Weasley's would be there (to watch Harry and Ron graduate), as well as Snape and McGonnagal (they are teachers). It would be something like a surprise attack with them counting on DEs to take on students, and underestimating the students (D.A. members in particular would be armed and ready for combat).

Just my thoughts.

This is, of course, assuming that they even have graduation ceremonies... so far, we haven't seen any, have we? In fact, the year right after Molly's son (Percy) would have "graduated" she visits Hogwarts for the first time in a long time, unless I'm very much mistaken.

That's right Athena,
When they come to watch Harry in the tournament. I like the idea of the final big battle happening at Hogwarts though.

Personally I'd like to see Aragog come and give Tom Riddle a piece of his mind

I think you might have got something there Alice. I think that all the beasts and magicla creatures will be involved in the final abttle too - even centaurs perhaps (despite not wanting to "serve" humans). Maybe there will be a rising of the house elves, lead by Dobby proudly wearing his SPEW badge and several wooly hats.
