I don't think this qualifies as Stupid but it definatly was embarassing and as this thread seems to hold both kinds of stories

When I was young and in college studying to be an x-ray tech we had to do our clinic rotations at the local hospitals. I was doing a rotation in the ER and had a rather good looking older gentleman come in for a chest x-ray.
He had removed his shirt and stood in front of the board for his frontal x-ray then when I had him turn sidways and face me for a side view I instructed him to put his arms over his head.
When he did this all of the muscles in his chest and arms flexed and before I could stop myself I said
"Oh My!"
I was mortified that I had said that to a patient, but he was just so... so... BUFF!
As I was only in my mid twenties at the time and he was in his mid fifties I think I made his day.

lol, sounds fun....

hehehe, ive just been reminded of something really stupid that i do.....well my spelling is bad im sure everybody noticed...but when i do writing say for a poster or a greetings card or something i sometimes miss out letters or mix them up for example happy birthday often becomes hapy bithday

so anyway, my friend broke her arm and she likes dragons so I drew her a get well soon dragon...he had a little sign and it had the words arranged as

Get
Well
Soon

only i got confused somewhere along the way and it came out as 'Get Wet Soon' and this is done in black pencil so i cant change it now...but anyway, the really bad thing is it was many many months before anyone pointed this out to me...so completely embarassing...i wonder if she noticed.....

oh boy don't get me started....some of the stupid things i've done

- i once tripped over the stairs in a (full) college room when i was looking for an empty seat because i was too late...
- i made a front flip with my bike on a busy schoolyard because my front wheel magically locked up...
-i also drove into several cars when it was raining because i held my umbrella in front of me...(doh)

and a lot more, but i always forget them....maybe intentional....

and these were when is was sober, i think i'll keep the drunk ones to myself...

Sonkem, I have issues with doors as well!

In our building we have security passes which are magnetized, and we flash them in front of these little lights and when the light turns green, you can open the door. Anyways, someone put a little cartoon up on the glass wall next to the door. it was of a building that said "school for the gifted" and there's this kid pushing the door that is clearly marked "PULL". I laughed at it, then flashed my card and tried to get in. But the door wouldn't open! And then i realised that i was pulling the door when you're supposed to push it. and this is a door that i have to go through like five or six times a day.

I did it again from the other side a few days later, only this time it was when this really cute guy was waiting for me to open the door as well. I finally realised and i'm sure if i could blush i'd be bright red. The guy just said to me, "Tough day?"

lol, I do that all the time....I'm in my third year at this university and in this hall and ive walked into every door in the D-floor corridoor at some point (not counting the ones that go to student room, just the fire doors and doors into the common room) now i achieved most of those this year too

I've walked into 2 sets in physics (including the main doors), the front doors of maths numerous times, the doors to the stairs in maths (those are evil)...i have major issues with the doors to lecture theatre A of maths...and theres those doors into the lecturer's offices on the main floor.....i've walked into the main doors of chemistry and the doors for lecture theatres A and B.....

you know, theres a fire door outside my room, i once successfully opened that and then tried to walk through the door frame anyway...and theres the door to the kitchen...someone closed it twice and the second time when i failed to open it i went back to my computer and moaned at my friend upstairs about the kitchen being locked and she came down and opened the door for me...it wasn't locked...oh yeah, door to the D-floor fridge too...it bit me...i shut my thumb in it.....

I'm still waiting for the day when someone will find me trying to prize open the wrong way one of those push doors that just has a brass panel instead of a handle

Hehe, has following situation ever happened to you? It happened to me a few times: When I walk with someone on the street and talk to them and suddenly I turn around and realize I'm talking to some complete stranger because my friend stopped at a shop window or something? That is sooooooo embarrassing.
Or when you say hello to someone because you think you know them and then you realize that you don't?

I get that a lot...turns out people remember me for some reason even if they only meet me a couple of times. Also helps that I barely age. The lamp-post thing...I know some girl who did that checking out some guy in a store  , he saw her do it too! And when I was in Cyprus my friend was walking under a tree but one of the branches was too low, so his head stopped but his legs carried on 'till he fell over backwards.

The hello thing is worse with people with mobile phones...'cause I get people saying hi to me all the time I think it's just another person I don't remember!.

Oh! I've remembered an embarrassing story...but it'l have to wait, and it didn't involve drink (being as I was about 6-8!!)

What i sometimes get is when someone is talking to me whom i don't really want to listen to i just say "Yes" and "yeah" with regular intervals....but at one moment the talking stopped and the girl that talked to me had this really weird expression on her face...

I still don't have a clue what is was exactly i said yes to.....

amateurs...
once when i was very little i was going home from school talking to a friend of mine.we were walking along the street when i bumped my head in a lamp-post and fell on the ground.i was uncouncious for 5 minutes or so...
or once me and a friend(who was very strong because he was working out)were on our way to a very old building-kind of a place where we hang out.I tried to push the door open when it needed to be pulled. My frien, obviously shocked that i can't open a flimsy old door said
-let me give you a hand
and he pushed and the door came loose  .

Once i saw a woman in front of my school thet looked like my mum and i had some trouble. So i decided to come clean-i started confessing all of my "sins" to a complete stranger and after a few minutes the lady turned around to face me and said"you must be mistaken-i don't have any children".I was so embarrased i ran away to hide
