But movies have such a great scenes and everything, and that's why I watch them, anyone who watches only movies will say that they're great, but I have read the books and movies are empty and shallow when you compare them with books :-?

I go to the movies for the music...I guess it adds an extra flare to the books. To me its even better to read the books once you know the music. Like every time I re-read any of my SW's books I think of the opening scene and what not (I know the movies came first but whose counting). And now every time I read HP, I can hear Hedwig's theme playing in my mind or the Christmas song when I get to that chapter. Through movies/drama you are able to add more than you can in the books even though they leave quite a lot out. Like I said somewhere I'm still peeved they left Peeves out...

The problem with the GoF is that the Dursley scene is the easiest one to leave on the cutting room floor. Almost everything else in the book, as long as it was, seemed to move the plot forward. It will be disappointing not to see the chaos in the Dursley's living room but its a decent sacrifice to keep other scenes in.
The idea of splitting GoF into two films comes upon the problem of when to stop the story in the first half. There needs to be a big enough climax to make the audiences come back to see the second film. It also needs to be at a point in the story where there will be enough of a plot left for the second half to hold its own.
They could take the Lord of the Rings path and have a super extended edition DVD after showing a clipped version of the story. That worked out well for Peter Jackson.
I don't think that this problem will occur when filming the OoP, because there is a lot (unless they recurr in the 6th and 7th books) that doesn't move the story forward. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved the attention to detail of it because it let me get completely immersed in the Potterverse but in a movie, it wouldn't have the same effect.

yeah the super extented edition from peter jackson worked good. everybody who wants to see more can buy it. that would also be good for GoF.

the dursley's have to be in the 5th movie. unless they r going to cut out the whole trial scene and harry getting expelled.if they cut that out it will be a great shame because that's what starts the whole plot

Dursleys have to be in OotP for the fact of the dementors in Little Whinging. which leads to Harry not only getting nearly expelled, but Dumbledore's Howler, Mrs. Figg being a Squib, and then she speaks at Harry's trial, which ends up leading to the near end, when Umbridge tells Harry that she was the one that set the dementors on him in the first place.
