Harry becomes the next Dark Lord? Just a thought. Somebody came up with it in the Theories section.

It's terrible...but it seems to follow the way life really goes.
And who will be the next to vanquish Harry Potter? It's so sad if our young hero turns evil...very disturbing for kids all over the world

perfectly possible and not a bad ending to the book series. but i am sceptical since as choki said, its a children's bookseries afterall and all the kids in the world will go mad if that happens.
also harry's evil suggestiveness so far has been due to Voldemort's curse bounceback. he, in no way, seems to be a power-hungry ambitious or evil man

If Harry became the next Dark Lord, he would be a very different type of evil than Voldermort.

I suppose he would have to kill Voldermort first for that to happen. And I doubt that he would want any of the Death Eaters in his ranks, he would most likely kill them all. He would take out vengance on those he hated the most; namely Snape, Lucius, Draco, Crabbe and Goyle. He might even go a little overboard and attemt to kill all of the Slytherins.

But who would be the new hero to stop him. Perhaps this could be Ron's chance to shine. To add an even creepier twist on the scenario -maybe Ron would defeat Harry in a display of true courage, only to become the next Dark Lord. The cycle could go on and on.

I wouldn't be suprised if that does happen. Harry seems to losing his mind bit by bit and Ron needs to get a moment where he's hero.

I think it's unlikely because so far Harry has shown skill using spells to resist evil, like resisiting the imperius curse and making a patronus, but he hasn't shown that he can do dark spells. The only time he tried one on Bellatrix it was a complete flop
