Has anyone here seen the Kenneth Braughn (sp), a.k.a. Prof. Lockhart, version of Much Ado About Nothing. It also has Emma Thompson and Kate Beckinsale in it. very good!!

I agree, Much ado about nothing is great

But I have no idea about LOTR whatsoever. Never read, never seen.

Japanese story (Australian roadmovie, unhappy end - I hate happy ends! )

Im Monat Juli (German romantic comedy. Unlike Americans, Germans have a 8) flair for that genre Moritz Bleibtreu rules, also in Luna Papa)

To so gadje (= Theese are vipers) - Slovenian comedy - I laughed my ass off

Schloss Griepsholm - German&Swedish, the plot is the novel Schloss Griepsholm, it's truly narcotic movie, but not for kids.

La fiancee de Dracula (French surrealistic vampire movie, really weird!)

Nomansland (about war in Bosnia, I think it won an Oscar?)

Trainspotting, of course. But I don't recommend it to people who are easily offended or don't like too explicite scenes. About proletariat life in UK are also great Purely Belter, Sweet sixteen, ...
The Magdalene Sisters are a brilliant piece of camera work but for me far too cruel Can't imagine what my sins would count for I also find Zorba the Greek very cruel, and Malena too. Get my point ??? Feminism ueber alles

A Norvegian movie about father who kidnaps his little daughter and takes her to the zoo - can't remember the title but it's really cool movie.

In a word, no Hollywood production for me please

I've seen "Malena", I truly loved it. It's kind of nice, cute, but also ... I don't know how to describe it, violent? Not really violence like lots of blood and that things, but what Malena goes through and how people react to her.

To Kill a Mockingbird

In my opinion, it's one of the best movies in cinematic history.

Okay, I've seen a few good movies since I've posted last:

Shrek 2: absolutely go see it. It was awesome. I want to see it again.

Cheaper by the Dozen: cracked me up. If you have brothers and sisters, this movie is funny. If you're from a huge family, this movie is hilarious. The high point is definately Bonnie Hunt as the mom, I think she plays the calm, witty mom reacting to the chaotic world around her perfectly. She's definately believable as a mom of twelve.

Daddy Day-Care: wait until it's not the 5 dollar rental, but it's a cute movie. I laughed. I wouldn't buy it, and I'm glad I didn't pay to see it at the theater, but it was an enjoyable way to spend an hour and a half. Steve Zahn was probably the best part, his talking Trekkie with the little kid.

13 Going on 30: Jennifer Garner has an amazing talent for pulling off comedy that is sweet and clean-cut, but also turning and doing some fairly emotional stuff. The best part was Andy Serkis (Gollum in LOTR) playing her uppety boss doing the dance to Thriller. Let me just say: this guy puts as much into other roles as he put into Gollum. Also, if you grew up in the '80's, it's fun noticing all the little '80's references.

Signs: I'm a big Mel Gibson fan, in my opinion he can do no wrong. But this movie just brought together great writing and directing (M. Night Shamalan), and great acting (Mel Gibson and Joaquim Phoenix... I know I butchered that name... it's the mean guy in Gladiator). I really really liked the little girl's personality ("There's a monster in my room, can I have a glass of water?" and her deal with the "contaminated" water), and the part with the aluminum foil hats cracked me up every time I saw it. We're probably going to wind up buying this movie.

I just saw "The Butterfly Effect" last night.
All in all I suppose it was a good movie but the ending was so depressing.
It is essentially the portrayal of the exact opposite of "It's a Wonderful Life"

I went to the theater last week and saw Spider-Man 2 and King Arthur. I didn't care for Spider-man at all. If your a kid maybe but there were a few to many over dramatic moments that to me just came across funny instead of sad or whatever. King Arthur was pretty good. I went expecting it to make me mad but it wasn't as bad as I thought which probably only helped the movie in my estimations.
