My username isn´t something that involved much concious thought, it just "seemed" right, and I´ve been using for a long time (pretty much since I had internet connection) and is my username in practically all places where you have to register. The word derives from the latin ferrum, which means iron, so I suppose that one could get all sorts of conclusions, but the fact is that I chose that username without thinking of that at all.

P.S. Theres your answer Mint, sorry about the delay. :D

Phaerie is the gaelic version of fairy. And fairies are small and mischevious (kinda like me) and i'm about 1/4 irish so Phaerie seemed kinda appropriate

I chose pallas artemis because I love everything mythological and my name joins two of my favorite female greek deities. Pallas is the, mostly unused, name of Pallas Athene, who I'm sure most of you know is the goddess of warcraft and knowledge, and Artemis is the goddess of the hunt, she is the twin sister of Pheobus Apollo.

I always use goddesses for my user names usually this one but sometimes, if I feeling particularly wicked I'll throw in Eris, goddess of discord, I like her two.

Mine started in an RP game with my friends. They thought it was confusing to spell Deedra correctly, "Deirdre", so that's what the phonetical stuff is about. the surname comes from the RPG, too.

Postby Reverie Revenge » Thursday 22 July 2004 1:18:02pm

Finally found a thread about creative nicks :D !

Actually I wanted just a nick with alliteration - so many witches and wizards in JKR's books bear names with alliteration
But I didn't want my nick to be any of HP names - can't identify with any of them that much ...

Reverie is from French - rêverie means the same as in English, + my concealed-nick-last-name is Revenge, so I get alliteration: Rev-Rev.
After I realised my complete nick sounds a bit like Rowena Ravenclaw, b/c of R-s and V-s, but not intentionally.

My nick has also a deeper meaning :o ... at least the ''last name''.
I want to reach justice, b/c Slytherins are so stigmatised ... so I'm dreaming of a revenge to show some cool (not stupid but cunning!!! ) Slytherins who'd maybe not be enemies of other houses :-? That's why I like to write about Phineas ... :typing:

BTW, my real name is Sala Zara

Postby Jinxed Angie » Saturday 24 July 2004 3:42:04pm

My original nick was Jinx because when I get a case of bad luck it turns into a disaster, I couldn't keep Jinx on the net coz some places your nick has to have more then 4 letters.

So I made up the name Jinxed Angel, I picked Angel because to some I am one, after a while I felt Jinxed Angel was to long so It became Jinxed Angie .

erm...pardon me but don't Angel and Angie have the same amount of alphabets???
Unless you are talking about the length as in time you spent using Jinxed Angel as a nickname of course
