The Chronicles of Narnia are a series of seven fantasy books by CS Lewis. Lewis was a genius of a theological philospher and his stories usually are based as Christian allegories. The Chronicles of Narnia books are just brilliant pieces of fantasy but also are even better on the level of symbols of humanitariumism (sp) and good vs evil. Just brilliant!

Hey, I know EXACTLY how you feel! Before I read The Count of Monte Cristo last summer, reading wasn't one of my favorite things to do. But it was such a good book that I cried when it was over! The emptiness was too much for me! So then I filled that emptiness by reading Lord of the Rings, and I felt the same hopeless desire for it to continue. Luckily, there's thousands of websites to go to, other Tolkien books to read, and the brilliant movies to watch that keep the emptiness from taking over. And I felt kinda the same way about Harry Potter, but like LotR, there's lots of sites to go to and, of course, the last 2 books and a couple more movies before it's completley over.

That three year wait was painful to say the least. A good six months before the release I took a leaf out of Harry's Book, started ticking the days off of a calendar until the release, and I didn't sleep for the entire week before it came out. I was so excited!!

Phelp,
I also was a reluctant HP fan. :-?
My sister told me about the books a couple of years ago but as they were touted as children's books I had no real interest in them.
Then the first movie came out and my kids loved it and I thought it was a good story.
My kids pestered me so much that I finally bought the full set (The first four at the time) and read them to the girls.
Well that was what did it. I was hooked. :D
When the fifth book came out I borrowed a copy right away and read it.
Then I read it again but I had to return the book.
So when the scolastic book fair came to my daughters elementary school I bought my own copy of OotP and have since read it several times. :P

Now I am writing my own version of the 6th book because I can't wait.
Then I found this place and as Paul mentioned the Fan Fiction area is great and a way to keep the magic going.

I also have never been so possesed by a fictional piece of work and I am rather amazed that JKR has the power to enthrall so many people so completely including me (skeptic that I am).

So no Phelp dear you most certianly are not alone

I think lots of people don´t read the books because they think that they are childrens books! They miss a lot...
