Phelp,
I also was a reluctant HP fan.
My sister told me about the books a couple of years ago but as they were touted as children's books I had no real interest in them.
Then the first movie came out and my kids loved it and I thought it was a good story.
My kids pestered me so much that I finally bought the full set (The first four at the time) and read them to the girls.
Well that was what did it. I was hooked.
When the fifth book came out I borrowed a copy right away and read it.
Then I read it again but I had to return the book.
So when the scolastic book fair came to my daughters elementary school I bought my own copy of OotP and have since read it several times.
Now I am writing my own version of the 6th book because I can't wait.
Then I found this place and as Paul mentioned the Fan Fiction area is great and a way to
keep the magic going.
I also have never been so possesed by a fictional piece of work and I am rather amazed that JKR has the power to enthrall so many people so completely including me (skeptic that I am).
So no Phelp dear you most certianly are not alone
